Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomDid not dislike anything but a breakfast will make it a perfect place to stay in the middle of Saint Louise. Oh watch out for the raised floor of the bathroom! (you drop a step when coming back to bed :))
This is a heritage sight turned into a hotel and events venue. It has a classic vibe and a very good value for money. Facilities are good except there seem to be no breakfast (unless you request it from the kitchen at a cost?). The area is nice, just a short walk away from the Gateway Arch and downtown with a tram station a block away to reach out other areas like the Forest Park, a pleasant green place in the mould of Central Park NY. There are a few shops towards the front of the hotel including a grocery store, a patisseries and a cafe

NetherlandsAC system was old and was controlled centrally, you could close the vents, sort of, but it would still make noise.
Location was great, walking distance of stadium and Gateway Arch (10-15 min). Room was big and comfortable.

United States of AmericaWe reserved a queen room and it was very small and noisy from a fan. Bed was comfy though. Friends had nice spacious king room. Unless you’re alone reserve the king. Desk did offer to switch rooms and wanted to be accommodating.
The lobby and whole first floor is magnificent, spacious meeting areas with lots of wood. Staff was friendly and helpful. Shuttle to and from ball game was great. Location hard to beat.

United KingdomThe hotel is a historic landmark, and with that comes an old building which hasn't been renovated in many a year.
The hotel is well located, and near the metro. Staff were helpful.

JapanRoom could be updated to meet the current standard -- especially for the bath room area. If they add a microwave and small refrigerator, that would be even better. Being a historic building, additional AC outlets would be nice for charging everything simultaneously. As a teller of fact, additional outlets was "hidden" inside wall of the TV table. However, I could not find them until the following morning as the room does not have proper illumination to see what was hidden in a shadow area. Nonetheless, it was a good stay overall as I did some homework to have a proper mindset for what to expect in advance.
Experience to stay in a piece of history is something you cannot do everyday. With two blocks from the light rail station, at least to myself, it is way better than staying around the airport. There are some grocery stores and good restaurants nearby was a plus. The room was decent and the bed was comfortable (i.e. firm) so that I had a good night sleep after a long working day. Wi-Fi was working swimmingly. Being located in the heart of St. Louis, it was quite busy. But, that was a good vibe overall. Last but not least, every staff that I have interacted with was great to make my stay a positive impression. Thank you very much.

United States of AmericaMy room was next to the elevator -- not really that close to the doors, but the noise from car going up and down the shaft (and the "clunk" each time it reached the ground floor) was clearly audible. All of the 01 rooms must deal with this issue (and maybe others, given how "not soft" it was). It only bothered me a little early in the morning (starting at 5:00 or so), when I think people were heading to the 5th-floor gym facilities.... Also, it took me a while to figure out how to turn off the fan blowing cold air (turn the white knob hard until the flap shuts) and to get the radiator to work (remove the plastic knob and play around with/jiggle the metal one beneath it). The famous step up into the bathroom didn't bother me much, but I would sometimes forget while exiting and end up careening into the bed. Not a big deal for me, but some people could shin themselves or stub a toe. The quirks are worth it to enjoy the early 20th-century building and ambience.
Even way ahead of time, rooms rates were pretty high in St. Louis the weekend of my stay. It turns out that the Cardinals had a three-game series with Pittsburgh at Busch, and the XFL team (the Battlehawks) played Sunday at the Dome. The area was crawling with sports fans. The MAC was significantly cheaper than any of the alternatives and was in my opinion a very nice place to stay. The location was great (easy to get to from the train/bus stations, airport, and points between via MetroLink, close to Laclede's Landing and the Arch, near a bunch of restaurants and bars). Soulard was a bit trickier to get to, but I managed to walk there in about 40 minutes, even with all of the highways that slice up the city's long-suffering downtown. MAC staff members were friendly, the onsite dining options were pleasant (if pricey, with the 20% club fee added), and the cigar-smoking club members were funny and not outrageously clubby. (Reading Sinclair Lewis' _Babbitt_ will prepare you.) My room was small but perfect for me. I looked out to the north and was able to watch a massive thunderstorm roll in that Saturday night, complete with large hail and tornado sirens. Quite dramatic.

United States of AmericaWe had a little trouble finding the entrance since it was our first time there. The room wasn't very sound proof. We could hear talking, sneezing and snoring of the guests living next door. Fortunately there were relatively quiet so our night staying was ok. Also the bathroom vanity need some upgrades.
My daughter loves the antique style decoration of lobby area. The location is great. It is in walking distance of the Arch and some good restaurants. The price was very good.

United States of AmericaThe traffic noise at night was obnoxious. We were on a top floor and could hear the revving engines and racing cars all night. This is not a hotel issue - but perhaps a police and city enforcement issue. It wasn't relaxing or calming for sleep.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The old building was unique and harkened a time from the 1920's. It was fun.
