Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe Inn does not have your conventional front desk and onsite staff as other places might so if you require this, it might be an issue. As this was winter, perhaps it is different in the summer months. That being said, offsite staff are a call away and responsive. Also note that it is a stairs only access to second floor rooms if that is an issue. Also the bathroom in our king executive room was small.
First and foremost, the Canalside Inn welcomes dogs, providing little pet amenities in the room! That is hard to find in the Rehoboth hotel/inn choices. Its location across from the main canal in a residential neighborhood behind makes for a quiet scenic location. And it is an easy walk, less than a mile, into the main street shops & restaurants area downtown. This particular January stay was very off-season (we were the only ones there!) with lots of snow but our golden retriever loved it! It is not a big place in terms of rooms which is also nice. And it has a nice downstairs guest kitchen/den like area to hang out in. All other pet-friendly options are miles away on the main highway.

United States of AmericaThe Outback pool/hot tub as well as the area they are located in needs a TLC and updating.
Where do you begin… the property was beautiful , situated perfectly within walking distance of the boardwalk and the staff was very friendly and accommodating .

United States of AmericaNo direction as to where coffee and supplies were located. Coffee was cold. Could be in better location or better signage.
It’s in a nice location, close to everything, but not in the middle of all of the chaos.

United States of AmericaOur room was super dusty. The common area in the basement was dirty and didnt feel comfy at all. there were dead bugs on the ground and dust all over the counters etc. The coffee and tea served in the morning was okay but what ever happened to the snacks and breakfast? The coffee and tea station was super dirty. The price seems to keep going up so I would now say its over priced.
we have been coming here for over 15yrs. We live the fact that it allows dogs and the location is just perfect. 15-20min walk from the beach and right next to the main road in Rehoboth.

United States of AmericaI feel bad writing this, but I guess its inevitable, the place needed some repairs, the towels had tons of holes in them and just looked old, and our room sort of smelled like a wet dog. We have a shiba inu and we try hard to make sure if we bring him and once we’re getting ready to leave we clean up and air the place (ofcourse he doesn’t really smell at all but I know some dogs do). There was this heavy smell. Maybe it was the dog bed that was there. I know this place has been around for a while so its normal for things to get old, but its important to keep up with cleanliness and little things here and there. I feel like you pay a good deal for the room so it should be updated. Otherwise we still love this place. Its still number one on our list when we decided to come next time.
We have been staying at the Canalside Inn for 15 yrs. we simply love this place. The location is perfect, you are just 15 min walk from the beach and just two minutes away from the main avenue where you can find restaurants shops entertainment.

We liked the location of the inn in relation to the beach and the boardwalk. We were able to walk and/or ride our bikes everywhere. The owner and employees were welcoming and happy to help if needed.

United States of AmericaJust the price and maybe they could have not had a additional charge basket on the dresser… we definitely had a nice stay and we enjoyed our clean room.😊
Nice place … a little pricey because it’s not a actual hotel but it was nice. The upkeep was great😊 they do a very nice job. However we paid for early check in as you would at a hotel chain. This is a very nice place I don’t want to take away from that and the location is awesome! I just feel that it was pricey but I’d stay again with a coupon or something.

United States of AmericaThe walls were a bit thin, and our dog could hear the other dogs left alone.
The room was great, in a great location near a wonderful cafe Egg, and a close 15 minute walk to the beach and all the shops nearby. Our dog loved it was great how friendly the place was... they even provided doggy bags and suggested places to go. Though we're vaccinated, it was very easy to check in and check out with minimal interactions with folks as per COVID-19 protocols. We'll be back!

United States of AmericaThe most important disadvantage of this hotel is the owner Bryan Deptula as well as the lady at the lobby, absolutely no idea of hospitality! A little later, to a question from the hotel by text, how do you like it here or not, I replied NO because I found the disadvantages and sent it in the textr, the owner wrote to me asking me to tell the details and what they can improve and I had to communicate with the owner, a very aggressive person in communication by phone and in messages absolutely not perceiving criticism, later to my number began calls, voice messages, and texts that absolutely not a healthy situation. I eventually contacted him and he began to talk in a high tone and explain to me that they are not a luxury hotel in this area (please note on the website Booking.com this place is 4 stars). I thing that every guest in this hotel is on vacation, I was on the beach and my dog was in the room and I had to get a lot of negativity from this person on the phone and as a result I was asked to leave the hotel at 8 pm with a refund when I absolutely did not ask for it. It is unacceptable such communication with guests! Never! Nothing about help and fix the issues. Also, this hotel is very intrusive before your arrival at the hotel, I received a lot of texts what SHOULD, MUST I DO to get my room when I have already booked my stay on the website booking.com (they ask for your bank card details, your address and other information which already provided to them by a third party). I have been using the BOOKING.COM for many years and in different countries, in this hotel the owner has no idea about the service, respect for your time. I am a third-level participant and noticed such disadvantages are just elementary: 1. Hair in the drawer 2. The Balcony is shared, not private as indicated on booking.com and website of the hotel. 3. The snacks, water and the dogs products are purchased, no the price list in the room, lobby and website.
The hotel looks nice nice atmosphere around. Also, if you like to cook and spend time with friends, there is a good kitchen with all the equipment downstairs. The room has a nice bed with good linens, a view of the canal and a comfortable bathroom as are positive things.

United States of AmericaI loved my room! And the location is tucked away in a quiet and peaceful area, but still so close to local beaches, shopping and restaurants. They have cute chairs/tables outside each room where I enjoyed a cup of coffee and listened to birds singing each morning. They thought of nice additions, such as a wine opener in the room and a cute little basket with goodies for purchase. I also really appreciated the keyless entry - so nice not to have to make sure you have your key when leaving your room. I liked the way they kept in touch via text throughout my stay and were really responsive to messages.
