Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNeed More towels and bathroom amenities. Room was clean but weird odor in our room and the entire motel. The bed was extremely hard and rolled away from the wall during the night, which caused our pillows to fall off the bed. Dingy but clean is close. Ice machine was also broken. Office was only open for a 4 hour period(4pm-8pm) which was noted on the doors. We were celebrating our Anniversary, Shilo Inn has always had a reputation of above average, sadly that is not what we experiences. The system is rating our review as 6 however I would give it no more than a 5.
It was close to our entertainment location.

United States of AmericaSome of the outlets in the room did not work and your graveyard staff was very rude. Had us waiting out there in the rain for almost an hour, then when he returned he had decided to not give us the room we had already purchase and we had to plea and apologize for his behavior when we were one’s out in the cold
The room was put together nicely

United States of AmericaPretty much everything. For 30 dollars more, I could have had a MUCH nicer room with better lighting, amenities, and features at the hotel just across the street. Live and learn.
I liked that the hotel was close to my event.

United States of AmericaShower was extremely finicky, toilet was difficult to flush, multiple massive stains on the floor, stains on the bedding, sink leaked, corners of the room were unclean, dresser had large portions of paint chipped off on all sides, and the office seemed to be closed whenever we needed it during the day despite supposedly being open until 8pm. This is probably due to staffing and not the staff itself, so it wasn’t as much of an issue just inconvenient.
Good location, bed itself was comfy and there was heating and cooling.

CanadaI think that some remodeling and upgrade work would benefit the property. the general impression is dark and dingy and the reception area is very small.
Booking in was great and friendly and met expectations. My room on the ground floor was as requested. The bathtub was delightful after the STP 208miles ride. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well

Costa RicaThe smell of smoke in the halls was awful and there was a big puddle in the back entrance with water coming out of somewhere. I stayed there for 5 nights and never got the towels changed, the garbage picked up or cleaning at the room. I don't recommend it to anyone.

United States of AmericaThe room and hallway were dark - two bedside lamps had one burned-out bulb each. The TV didn't work and I had to summon the desk clerk who found that the TV had reset its input setting - not for the first time. The heater was rather noisy and ran continuously.
The room met minimum requirements - the bathroom was cramped but there were the minimum number of towels and washcloths. I slept well and spent only one night in town.

United States of AmericaThe lobby was closed most of the time and at check out I couldn't even walk through the lobby with all of my stuff- I was told I had to go through the side door, which had steps down and then steps up to get to the parking lot. That was a little ridiculous. Also, the bathroom is super small. Overall not a bad place just those 2 things were terrible.
On site parking, nearby to where I needed to go

FranceIt was not the cleanest, there was no breakfast ("due to covid") and some shady people hang out in the general area. My room also was never cleaned during my stay. That would be fine for a ~3 day stay max, but after >7 nights...
It was the cheapest option available. For the price and the location it was a very good option, especially if you visit a conference at the conference center, and I am happy with the stay. Was it the best? No, there is much room for improvement. But it also could have been much worse.

United States of AmericaThis building has seen better days, and is badly in need of renovation. Most of the wear and tear just gives a "rustic" feel (a good thing), but things like the location of lamps isn't well thought out. There's also a serious lack of power outlets for plugging in a laptop, phone charger, etc. -- one side of the bed (in this case, the side I'm accustomed to sleeping on) has nothing available at all.
The staff at this place are some of the friendliest, most upbeat individuals I've met in that job -- very professional. The bathroom layout is also pretty close to ideal.
