One shower is a bit slow draining but that would be easily fixed

Easy to find, room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was beautifully cleaned. The gentleman who greeted me was genuinely sweet. A great first night in LA

Just the bar.. 😂 but I don't drink and I prefer it s little more quiet at my normal sleeping time. 8-9pm.. call me old school 🤷

The bar below us is well a bar.. 😂 but if you can sleep through it or sleep late it's cool I guess. The beach is chillin. My view from my room is the ocean shore which for 50 bucks you just can't get here in LA..so they hit that with a win.

Rooms smelt of sweat and piss and druggies raving solo near the doors. Parking was unclear and needed to pay a lot or street parking that was also unclear. Said enforced 10am-2am, no parking , 8-10am. Was down Hermosa in the middle of the roads

The showers were good and breakfast 🥞. The girl waited up for me as my flight was delayed. Lovely. Thanks so much!

Some noise at night since many bar around here but it is expected. You need to walk 15 mins to Free Street parking but this is LA, I know parking is difficult to be found so it is acceptable. The shower room install a auto light but it will be auto turn off when you showering. Overall, it is good hostel and suitable for talkative person.

Staff and people is very nice, some activities will be hold here. We will talk and discuss many thing. This is a safety district, no homeless around. You can find a drink at night since some bar is nearby.

Right above a bar that had a live band (& it was Saturday night!) not the best sleep but was lovely to have a large room to myself with an ensuite!

Location right on the beach was lovely! Staff were great, breakfast was awesome, but don't be late or there won't be much left! Coffee was amazing.

Building interiors need an upgrade and the furnishings. Some people staying there are long term.

The location ! Beach views! Walking distance to local shops and grocery stores. Staff are friendly Comfortable stay for a night or two.

Low staffed, as there was nobody in the reception office. Door was closed with a number to call but someone was always there. I guess they only have one or two persons run the whole hostel. Which seems cheap because Hermosa Beach is an expensive community - nearby food is at least 25-30$ per person, so be prepared for that.

Location- steps to the ocean and beach. Ocean view from room. Friendly staff. Meeting Friendly people who were also staying in the hostel. Smart tvs.

It's little difficult to find the place.

I arrived at the hostel around the time it passed 1:30 a.m., but I could check in because the office was still open. The staff were so kind and helped me call a taxi, and before check out, I could have free breakfast, which made me satisfied so much.

If you want good sleep this is not the place, it is a really noisy place because it's upstairs of many bars and restaurants. Some of the staff were super friendly but others didn't even say hello

An elevator would be nice. But it looked like an old building. Not sure if that’s possible. Fitted sheets kept slipping off the mattress exposing the plastic protective cover underneath. I tried extending my stay but there wasn’t any availability.

Well run establishment. I loved the “international college student traveler’s” vibe. It took me back to college dorm life. Amazing experience!!! Staff was professional, positive, courteous, helpful, & motivated. The steep stairs were an issue for me as a disabled person, but it was still worth staying. Great location!!! Great view!!! Great price!!! Great staff!!! Great guests!!! My expectations were exceeded. I had a great time. Thank you!!!

Can be quite loud on weekends with live bands right underneath the hostel but not such an issue if you’re out til late.

One of the most amazing areas I’ve ever stayed. Got the private room upstairs at the front so had amazing smells of food along with sounds of beautiful guitar/live singing during the day plus epic views of the sunset and crisp ocean breeze.

The cleaning standard wasn’t great in the room or the en-suite shower. Quite noisy at night due to the location so not good for light sleepers.

Great location close to the beach and the main drag with restaurants, bars and shops right outside. The room was comfortable with ensuite shower and WC. The shared kitchen and breakfast room were clean and tidy and the hosts provided pancake mix which was brilliant.

Awesome spot and such great value. Hermosa Beach has a great vibe and this hostel is right in amongst it. The location is steps from the pier and tucked amid all the restaurants and cafes. The 4-bed dorm was fine - basic, but good value for the price considering the location. Staff were helpful and friendly. I did not take advantage of the dinner or breakfast, but what I saw looked good.

Very poor cleaning We were the only ones in the dorm and was full of trash under the beds and the en-suite bathroom was so dirty, the shower gel was only water because the container is broken

It's not really an issue but I have to write something in this box... the party DJ downstairs in the Safehouse was a bass addict. We loved it until we tried to sleep ;) so weekend guests either party till the end or learn how to sleep while the floor is vibrating.

Awesome short stay. We came to visit local friends and therefore didn't hang out with other guests or the team but everyone was at all times nice and friendly to four mid-40 guys. Location could not be better, right at the beach pier in between pubs, restaurants and shops. 30 seconds to a beer tap. 60 seconds till you jump into the waves. Bikes and boards available for rent.

I didn’t stay long enough to stare something I did not like.

I did not have a breakfast because I eat vegan, but the place is so well located that one could get other places around to have to choose from in terms of food.
