Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaGot there, The ad said twin bed. The lady at the desk said "do you want to sleep on top or bottom" I said "what". Apparently it was a bunk bed for two that fortunately there was room at the bottom. Also, she said I can't be allowed in the future because my ID was a New York. Believe it or not, that stated in the small print when I booked on line. Little inconvenience. Don't think I'll come back again. Such a hassle. Can you picture this nonsense. No discount or anything. Not good. Not good at all.

United States of AmericaThough not far from subway, location was not in Manhatten. The bunk could have enclosed drapes for better privacy.
From the moment I entered NY Local, I was warmly greeted by the staff at the bar and the check-in desk. I found the place clean and the ambiance very welcoming.

South Koreathe air-conditioner sounds very loud. i wish there were air freshener in a room. i wish they have a corner rack shelf in a shower booth.
This is a hipster hostel. They have a bar, art gallery and common area on the lobby floor, including laundry room. A lot of people from many different countries get together on the lobby floor. You can go to the roof and find pretty good scene from there. The room size was not too bad regarding to the price and location(NY). There were 2 bunk beds, 1 toilet, 1 small shower in the room. Also there were 4 small lockers under the bed. If you do not have a lock, you can ask one from the reception. The locker might fit 2 small carry-on bags. If you have a larger baggage, you have to lock and place it next to the beds. They clean the room everyday(they don't make your bed), and it stays very clean. But it seems that you might have to ask for changing new towel though. There are several subway stations around the hostel. It takes 3 min walk to the nearest one. I went to a hipster cafe called Ninth Street Espresso, right across the hostel, and it was good. This hostel should be good for ones who want to travel in NYC or in Brooklyn.

United States of AmericaI think the mattresses could use another inspection. I actually felt the springs in my mattress as I adjusted to get comfortable for the night. There was a spare bed stuck in our room. We had our bunks, but there was a single bed, with a pillow tossed on it, that took up space in the room. I have seen rooms where there is a door separating the sink, and the sleeping area. So, late night, a person is not disturbing anyone when they come in or get ready. That wasn't the case in our room. It would be nice - considerate, if Booking.com, or the property, made certain all travelers were aware of all fees& taxes involved in the price before arriving to the property. Using a different font, or different colored text to indicate pricing and final cost during the booking process would be helpful. There are other hotels that do not require an additional deposit when a traveler arrives at the property. When I was checked -in, when the assistant at the desk mentioned it, it felt like new information to my ears.
I appreciated the ability to arrive when I did and leave my bag while I went to take care of a few things. I enjoyed the lounge area. The access to a bar and good drinking water was also great.

UgandaNoise in the residential area on afew nights that had student guests. They were on rampage and disrupted my sleep. Even when contacted, the staff seemed like they couldn't do much.
Staff, location and cleanliness were top notch. Its about 5minutes to the metro to key stops like port authority. I had great roomates through out. I am still in touch with two of them. The kitchen was heavenly. One could make a cup of tea/ simple meal anytime.

MexicoI found it a tad uncomfortable that we couldn't bring food to the rooms, but that's more of a nitpick and the areas of the business room and dining room were plenty good to stay in to work in.
The staff was extremely polite, helpful and nice, the installation is very comofrtable and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Great value for our money.

PolandThe neighbourhood at first sight was terrifying... especially when you arrive when it is already night. I didn't feel safe at the beggining, but on my 3rd day I felt comfortable on the streets. AC in the room was quite loud and constantly switching on/off, so the noise was inconsistent. The shower had only 1 knob - you had to start from cold water and move it to warm, no choice to stop water without going through cold (but I saw it also in another property so maybe it is US-specfic ;). curtain in our room was not able to protect the floor from getting wet. No tea/coffe cups in the common kitchen, luckily I had my own. No lift, only long stairs.
comfortable common spaces such as tables downstairs, kitchen, and the bar (especially when people in your room are already/still sleeping), roof terrace with a view (though it was not so usable in winter), 5 min walking distance from SUBWAY. The room was small, nevertheless had a small toilet and bathroom.

United States of AmericaI didn’t like that the bathrooms didn’t have a caddy or provide shampoos/conditioners or soap. I also didn’t like that I had to keep reminding the front desk for a change of towels.
The property was nice and had a cozy vibe along with really beautiful views of New York’s skyline.

NetherlandsThe AC in the room was quite loud and constantly switching on/off, so the noise was inconsistent. Plus sometimes loudly snoring roommates, so earplugs are very much advised! Kitchen supplies such as pans were mostly old and scratched. No tea/coffee cups in the kitchen - had to ask them at the bar every time. The room space was quite small - it gets cramped in all 4 people are awake and doing something. The shower curtain in our room was not able to protect the floor from getting wet.
Nice roommates, comfortable common spaces such as tables downstairs, kitchen, and the bar (especially when people in your room are already/still sleeping), a laundry facility, nice atmosphere and friendly staff, roof terrace with a view (though it was not so usable in winter), 5 min walking distance from the metro station and pleasant neighborhood with supermarkets and restaurants.

LithuaniaThe kitchen and cupboards are smelly. There are couple stoves but it’s not really possible to cook anything but egg. Bunk beds are moving if your rommate turns. Don’t forget to bring earplugs and a sleeping mask - not all people understand that room is for relaxing and sleep.

South AfricaSome tweaks could be made to allow the rooms to be more pleasant in general and as shared spaces- for e.g. extra coat hooks, perhaps a shelf for shoes, a lower hanging and larger shower curtain, a bath mat or duck board, and a shelf in the shower.
Good location and general facilities, friendly staff. Shared sitting areas and communal kitchen was nicer than expected.
