A little paradise of peace on its own away from all the urban hectic. Amazing traditional food to a very high standard. We really appreciated the effort the resort put in to keep everything clean as pollution in Vietnam needs some attention unfortunately. Nevertheless a beautiful beach and spotless surroundings, staff that went out of their way to help you. Fabulous massages and sunset cocktails in a place where you just forget time. Luckily we managed to extend our stay and were sad it came to an end. Whale island thank you.

Nothing really

Beautiful and very quite island and very different from anywhere I have been before. Clear water, good diving/snorkeling with corals intact and many fish to see. Food very good. Enjoyed drinks in the small bare sitting just above the water. Will be back for sure.

Gorgeous location. Beautiful views. Cosy bungalows that were well appointed with comfortable beds, mosquito nets, great shower, and lots of ventilation. Fantastic hike around the perimeter of the island. Hosts set up a great little snorkelling trip and were very helpful getting us to and from the resort!

The food. Too basic without creativity while there is so much good food in Vietnam. Really not ok for such a nice and relative expensive place. I am embarressed to say but After 2 days we even craved for an ordinary hamburger (they don't serve that by the way). So we lost some weight I guess.

Having a good cabanha at the sea side, nice and quiet, very good to chill out for a couple of days. Very friendly staff, nice swimming and snorkeling in front of the resort.

the Island would be a paradise if all is Talent care of than the Resort area. unfortunately there are many fish farms around which Not only polute the sea but also the Island is full of rubish. would be Great to See the Vietnamese government taking more care of their waste & polution problem, in particularly in areas as beautiful as this island.

Generally speaking the staff on the floor were very friendly however I did not feel very welcomed upon my arrival and check-in, luckily I met another solo traveler and things got better afterwards.

Don't expect to go diving or snorkeling in the windy season from November to March as the visibility is not good and not worth the time.

Beautiful location and incredible food at this restaurant! It's not just a hotel restaurant, but really delicious food. There is a beautiful secluded beach that feels like paradise!

It was idyllic. The beach is gorgeous: location beautiful. They have tried & succeeded in creating a plastic-free haven, where much of the coral is still live in the reserve & where there are plentiful fish in clean water. The huts are lovely: some great touches- daily fresh water in refilled glass bottles, tea leaves in little bamboo pots to use, mosquito nets ( tho we only saw about 2 !) I’m vegetarian & they went to great efforts to cook interesting meals with tofu/ mushrooms etc. My husband isn’t & said his food was excellent. Different set menus of 5 courses each night left us very content! You can swim , relax, snorkel, canoe, dive or walk across the island,( tho sadly the other side of the island is not so good. ) The staff are all fantastic. I could rabbit on for ages! Transport is all arranged for you. Just go there!

Could do with drinking water being available to help yourself to. Shame about the rubbish that floats in but this is not the resorts fault and they are doing a great job of clearing it up.

It was hot at night but we expected this.

An exceptional location, with only about 25 bungalows on the island it never feels crowded. Lots of opportunities to swim and relax and excellent food.

Feels like a little bit of paradise. Staff keep it super clean which is a great contrast to the surrounding, and they are trying to preserve marine life as well. lots of information about the reefs, fish and nature / birds etc. Super friendly staff, food is pricey compared to other places in Vietnam, but it goes to a good cause and it’s very delicious and always a great selection of different dishes. Would definitely recommend for a quiet get away.

Nothing. Of course there are bugs and no air conditioning but this is an Eco-resort so that is obviously normal and to be expected.

many fish farms close to the island with constant noise and a fair bit of floating debris in the water. although the staff keep the beach clean the surrounding area suffers from plastic pollution

The food options were limited. This wouldnt have been a problem for just a couple of days but we had quite a long stay. We struggled a bit with the set menu. (They did however make us fried egg sandwiches several times as an alternative )

This setting is fabulous . Literally a little slice of heaven. We stayed 5 days due our travel plans changing and we were so relaxed by the time we left. The snorkeling is pretty spectacular. The beach huts are low key and inkeeping with the setting. There are so many staff working on the island both conservationists and hotel staff. We enjoyed the snorkeling trips which are available every day. There is no air con but this is to be expected at an eco retreat. The fans worked well. Bring mosquito repellant and treatment because they are plentiful. Another family, who's son lived in Vietnam told us this is the best, having travelled previously to Phu Quoc and other coastal areas.

A little bit of paradise ! An eco resort to just laze around in ! The room that was next to the beach with plenty of shade if you wanted, or you could just walk down a couple steps into the sea for a dip - wonderful . We had amazing snorkel trip. very chilled out ! nice 😊 Staff and food great too of course. ps. lovely sunsets !

There’s not too many things to do at Whale Island - but since we came to relax that was fine by us.
