Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNothing. All excellent.
Convenient location near Stellanbosch and close to major vineyards. Lovely gardens, surrounded by mountains, lovely well-equipped rooms with cutting edge technology. Hardy and Steffi and their staff could not have been more helpful or supportive. Their local knowledge and recommendations were perfect. It was quite hot during my stay. The large pool and sitting out area was ideal. Also, Hardy installed a ceiling fan in my room, which was superb. Breakfast was excellent. Would definitely return or recommend it.

United KingdomNothing in particular about the property to not like, only the initial introduction and show around of the apartment by the male owner was a little mechanical(lacking authentic gentle kindness), leaning towards miserable in one’s free opinion, perhaps it was just the moment but nevertheless the initial human interaction with him did not match the beauty and goodness of the surrounding nature on the marvellous earth.
Loved the quaint views, surrounding mountains and quietness of the property and land. Also the pear trees, plants, and flowers in the property itself are a marvel. In the evening the silence and dark skies offer a moment to observe the magic with its bright constellation of stars for one to observe vividly and clear with the eyes and heart.

United States of AmericaI can’t fault the property. We’d be back anytime.
Location is so convenient between Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and all the amazing vineyards in between. The grounds were beautiful with almost 360 degree mountain views and the rooms were rustic yet stylish with all mod cons. Even though the guest houses were adjoined it still felt very private and the simple breakfast was elegant. Hardy and Steffi were great, so so friendly and helpful, they communicated before and throughout and so attentive to guest needs. They made some great recommendations for eating and visiting and we weren’t disappointed.

United KingdomOur room was clean and well presented. Luckily our host Hardy showed us around as there are some high tech / energy saving electrics (easy to master, promise!). He was also an excellent font of local knowledge and suggested we talk a walking wine tasting - excellent! The bed was really comfortable, there was also a couple of chairs, storage, a fridge and beverages making via a pod-type machine. Toiletries were supplied. Breakfast was very good with the usual fruit, bread and eggs combination offered. What really made this stay, were our hosts - thanks so much!

IsraelHardy the host is the kindest guy I met, he has great recommendations for wine tasting and activities around the Banghoek Valley. The room is really pampering and with cool lighting technology. Breakfast is full with delicious food. The Estate and facilities are nice and quiet. You should stay at least 2 nights here, it's really good.

United States of AmericaIt rained a lot.
Hardy and Stefanie are very accommodating and great hosts. They gave us many tips on places to find good restaurants, wine and Stefanie volunteers at a local charity to bring hope and opportunity to the impoverished children in the Kylemore environs. Simply stated they are wonderful examples of caring people. We were so touched by their philanthropy that we decided to donate to aitsa.org. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious and I especially loved the fruit salad bowl each morning. Beds were very comfortable and the duvets are heated. Orangeville is on 2 hectares of land (~5 acres) with a swimming pool and plenty of secure space to roam. Finally, there was a variety of proteas in the dining area. NB Stefanie knows a lot about these indigenous flowers. It was great value for the money.

SingaporeThere is no water during load shedding which is an inconvenience, but unavoidable. The setting is amazing, but I recommend having a car - it is possible to get Ubers but they are expensive and can be difficult to get. The rooms have loads of helpful gadgets and bits of tech, but it does mean that there are limited sockets available for charging phones etc.
The guesthouse is in a gorgeous setting - the gardens are beautiful and the rooms are well finished. It is very quiet and peaceful. The owners and staff were lovely - really friendly and always ready to help with recommendations.
