Our stay at Summerwood was exceptional! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and provide travel tips (even for future travel outside of Stellenbosch)! The location was perfectly safe, particularly for morning runners, and a nice walk into the main town. Summerwood was one of the highlights of our trip!

Pool was frigid! A pool cover might help to use sun to warm water and keep heat in! But it is beginning of autumn here.

Fiona, the host, was extremely welcoming, helpful and available. Breakfasts were vendors and delicious. Staff in breakfast room and on the ground were attentive and responsive. Free bikes with locks were available and tuteli the best way to go to town for visits or dinners. Rooms were perfectly appointed and bed very comfortable

Fantastic property, and a wonderful host. Breakfast was amazing, the best of our whole two weeks in the Cape. Town centre was a 15 minute walk away in a straight line. Room facilities were excellent

It was a very interesting building with a lovely feel. Parking was within the grounds and secure. The room was light and airy. There was a lounge open to all with tea and coffee as well as an honesty bar. The garden and pool were pretty. I liked being able to have breakfast outside, looking over the garden.

Absolutely nothing - It’s a truly fab place to stay.

Everything. Fiona & all the staff were totally exceptional - nothing was too much trouble. Gorgeous spacious house in a quiet area but still close to town. Great attention to detail everywhere. Very big room with a super comfy bed & the quietest air con ever! Ample parking. The most tasty breakfast cooked to order. Complimentary tea & Nespresso coffee in the communal area.

Minor point, would like small milk jug for breakfast tea rather than keep going back to the tea / coffee station for milk in bottle that is for all tables

Breakfast very good. Preferred being served a choice rather than the food being left out for self service. Room spacious and clean. Plenty of space for car parking and gardens well kept

The location was perfect- you could walk into town or cycle as bikes were available to use Our room (4) was spacious, really comfy bead, phone charging points, nice bathroom with separate shower and bath and views over the garden and pool. The garden and pool area was beautiful with sunbeds and towels provided. The breakfasts each morning were delicious. The whole guesthouse was delightful and Fiona was so good at providing a friendly atmosphere and any information we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble. We didn’t want to leave.

Would have liked a choice of bread for breakfast, the large slice I got forced me to eat more bread than I would normally like and could not countenance the waste of having my leftover bread just being thrown away.

Great ambiance, very customer-oriented management team and staff. Lovely place!

Summerwood House and Stellenbosch area were both a highlight of our trip to SA. We loved its relaxed yet stylish vibe and Fiona was an incredibly friendly and helpful host - nothing was too much trouble including getting me shoe glue and safety pins to correct a few wardrobe malfunctions 😂 The breakfasts were to die for and our daughters loved the pool and the bunnies. I’d recommend to anyone without a second’s hesitation
