The Alva Valley Hotel sits on the confluence of Alvoco and Alva rivers, in the quaint Ponte das Três Entradas. It is 10 km from Oliveira do Hospital and 24 km from Piódão.

I chose the hotel because the hotels were full in Piodao. What a pleasant surprise! The drive from the hotel to Piodao is breathtaking. And the hotel itself is located in a small valley where we went for small walks, great for stretching the legs after driving for so long. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel had all the amenities one would expect of a modern hotel. Very clean room, and the breakfast was excellent with good variety. I loved the white cheese and marmalade!
