Welcome to Aurora Lodge Hotel, where adventure awaits! Our complex of 8 charming buildings sits right on the banks of the East Rangá River, just a stone's throw from the Icelandic Route 1 (Ring Road)... Very cozy facilities and the hot tub outside was a plus when we arrived and it was freezing. Large rooms and perfect lobby for a drink while watching the snow fall. Breakfast was 10/10!

The family-owned Hótel Lækur is set on an Icelandic horse farm, between the Golden Circle and the south coast. Hella is 10 minutes’ drive away. It offers a sun terrace and a guest lounge. Super friendly staff. They give you a knock on the door if northern lights show up. We would have missed them otherwise. We also got some tips for nice spots were not all the tourists go. Super comfy beds. Bathroom is a bid small but for us not an issue. I would definetly recommend everyone to stay there. Ask for room 16 to get amazing sunrise view out of your bed!

Featuring a lounge and views toward Eyjafjallajökull, Umi Hotel is located at the foot the famous volcano in South Iceland. It features a terrace and views of the sea. It was a perfect stay: beautiful hotel, lovely staff, delicious food and amazing surroundings (make sure to walk to the beach!). Everything is expensive in Iceland but Umi was well worth the price (which cannot be said of the Fosshotels).

Gudrun our host greeted us on arrival and recommended what to do and see in the area. We had a lovely 2 night stay and especially enjoyed the homemade waffles for breakfast. Location was excellent.
