Breakfast is very well prepared individually. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cosy bar. Enjoyed a very well prepared steak.

Unexpected upgrade to our bedroom without asking meant we stayed in style! Hotel is in process of refit, so bedrooms upgraded and modern.
Food menu in process of being changed so only basic on the night we changed, but cooked well and good value. staff were lovely.

Ecclefechan itself is a bit of a ghost town very tired looking centre just a small general store. We went to eat at the Cressfield hotel on outskirts of village by caravan site.We ate there and would reccommend their evening meals.Ecclefechan is in quite a good position to see some of the surrounding countryside and coast.

Lovely Hotel, 400 years old and lots of character, very friendly, regular bus service to Lockerbie, Annan, Gretna and Carlisle. We had a great adventure. Hotel was very friendly and we loved our stay. The food was good pub grub and the hotel was lovely as was the room. We had a beautiful on suite. A big comfy bed. Absolutely no complaints at all and we shall go back. Thank you Mary and our lovely barmaid Karen. Nothing was too much trouble.

We were welcomed as soon as we arrived by Ste who was more than helpful during our stay. The landlady made a point of coming to sit near us during the evening and we had a nice conversation not only with her but a local gentleman called Ben who we had a few drinks with. The barmaid was really good and although the place was busy she didn't drop a stitch. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again on the next trip to Scotland.

This hotel was a real home from home.
This hotel was a real home from home.
Each room was full of fascinating historical artefacts and the owner was keen to tell us about the history of the building.
There are open fires and cosy sitting rooms to enjoy.
The welcome was very warm.
One night stop over on route to Scotland I booked the superior double and it was worth it. Lovely big comfortable room.
Travelled with my dog who was made very welcome.
My evening meal (gammon and chips) and breakfast were delicious.
The staff were lovely and friendly. I look forward to staying again.
Character property with a spacious bedroom and full of history. Great continental breakfast including boiled eggs. Staff all very friendly. Old building but very clean. Free spacious parking. So much nicer than a hotel chain. No evening meal which we knew we ate at Hoddom Castle 10 mins away.
We liked the location and the proximity to the hotel where we had dinner on the first night. We liked the size of all the rooms especially the bedrooms. The bedding and towels were spotless as were all the dishes in the kitchen.
Hotel being upgraded. Room we had was large and airy with all mod cons. Great situation for touring around the south west border. Food was good especially the Ecclefechan Tart was yummie. Staff nice and chatty.
Really easy to find, without driving miles away from your travel route. Car park behind the hotel. Evening meal even though we arrived later than expected. Good pub atmosphere with fantastic staff.
The hotel was convenient and easy to find off the A74(M). The room was clean and comfortable and had a bath rather than just a shower. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good.
Spent 1 night and the room was really clean with all details in place. Bit of fresh milk, different types of coffee, warm and same level of a hotel, but smaller.
This hotel was a great stay. Welcomed at the door, check in was quick, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was perfect. Parking was good. Thank you.
Wonderful dinner with cooking of highest quality and very well priced for the obvious effort put into the meals. The hotel itself was very comfortable.
