Location is very nice, especially during Christmas time.
Location is very nice, especially during Christmas time. Streets are decorated with Christmas lights everywhere. Lot of restaurants nearby. The big shopping mall across the streets ensure that you can buy almost anything you need. For the transport, taxi is safer then rented car. Traffic there is quite intensive during daytime.

Vigo is a a lovely City to visit, Old City has many excellent restaurants with quality seafood and pork in particular. Taxis are reasonably priced and it offers good train and bus services - Porto is only 2 hours by bus if you want to explore. Santiago de Compostela is a short train journey away.
The new transport interchange is pretty impressive with an integrated shopping mall, they are building an observation platform which will offer fantastic views of the city and estuary.

Vigo is a combination of old and new architecture, with all types of stores everywhere. The water view is beautiful as well as the terracotta rooftops. The city is very vibrant, even in the middle of the week; people are helpful. Some of the buildings are not maintained. It appears to be a pet and children friendly city based on the parks around. It is easy to get around, and there are walking escalators for some of the uphills.

Exploring the old town was lovely. It is a very pretty city.
Exploring the old town was lovely. It is a very pretty city. Although hilly! We travelled from England and found that it was very useful to have some basic understanding of Spanish as it does not appear Vigo is a hotspot for English speaking tourists. We spent a day visiting Ceis Island which was wonderful, definitely something worth doing. We then also took a car and went out of the city to do some hiking which was beautiful, and then visited some beaches on the way back to Vigo, near Oia, which again were stunning and worth the trip.

A city worth discovering!
A city worth discovering! The CIES islands remain the point of greatest attraction, without any doubt!
The only unpleasant thing was the fact that at most of the terraces (those in the Constitution Square, for example) you could not order food until after 20:00. So, I only drank beer :)
We have been to Hesperia many times before and every time our expectations have been met.
The staff is very nice and professional.
The hotel room is cleaned very well and looks great.
The bed is nice and big and very comfortable.
The hotel is placed between the beaches of samil and the city center. You can either walk everywhere or go with the bus and be anywhere in Vigo within 15 min.
We will be back for sure.
The room is small but the bed is comfortable. The bathroom is fine. The best aspect was closeness to a wonderful beach that was clean and the water so refreshing after a day on El Camino. Please note that this hotel is located several miles south of central Vigo, which will screw up your walking plans for El Camino. We took a taxi to central Vigo to join friends for walking the next day on El Camino.
This is a basic hotel not luxury , a little dated but well located near the old town.
Please note there were a few events in Vigo at the time and all hotel prices were inflated especially those well located.
So on the day you got value for money but under normal circumstances it would have proved expensive in the UK it might just about get a2.5 star rating.
The staff were excellent.
Firstly the cleanliness of this hotel was immaculate, you can tell the workers and the owner take pride in this establishment.
It should really be listed as a 4 star.
Breakfast was definitely value for money and the receptionist ( Borja ) was excellent, very attentive and knowledgeable in giving advice on what to do in Vigo
The breakfast was very good. I arrived at the hotel at 2 a.m. after my flight from Madrid to Vigo had to return due to high winds in Vigo. Iberia put us on a bus for 7 hours to Vigo. I missed my hotel reservation in Ourense, and picked up my car a day late. I was happy to find a hotel near the airport that had a clean room.
We stayed here as one of our camino party was leaving us here for train travel to Santiago. The hotel is very close to the train station. Large room and huge beds.
God value coffee and breakfast in Vigo. If walking the Camino and want to eat / drink do here as quite a while until we found another stop.
It was a great location in Vigo. Right in the heart of everything. The place was clean, very comfortable and had lots of small touches that added to the experience. Super clean with a great shower. Lots of great communication before we arrived so all our questions had been answered.
Hotel has parking on site(extra price 15€/day). The staff was very nice & helpful. The location is good - 12min walking to the harbour area. The cafeteria next to the hotel has very good breakfast options (best eggs with bacon I had in a long time).
Great location right next to the harbor and a very lively plaza. This means it can be rather crowded and a bit loud at night but you cannot blame the hostel for that. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. Good deal, would come back again.
We were starting our camino in Vigo and stayed here. The staff was very helpful and explained the best way to get to the camino from the hotel. The room was as presented on pictures, very clean.
Lovely hotel in the centre of town, Vigo is a fair size industrial type town on the Camino. I walked around the area big I did not find the down town section, I suspect there are many.
Modern, clean hotel with helpful staff. Located close to the port so good for trips to Isla de Cies and near to Vigo's old town which has lots of bars and restaurants
Nice hotel around 7Km from Vigo. I stop here on the Camino, the hotel was fine but not much around. I found a small bar and watched the football match.
