Set back off the main road is this delightful, friendly Inn, the aroma of delicious food and the comfortable interior similar to
that of a Country pub was very pleasing. We were met by Mathew (I think the manager) who greeted us with a very warm and welcoming smile. He personally showed us to our rooms (next to each other as we had requested) and went through how to use the shower and showed us the electrical points and how to use the TV. He also surprisingly (a first in any hotel we have stayed in) , pointed out the fire escapes etc. The room itself was a little dated but clean and fresh towels and soap was provided in the bathroom. There were tea and coffee making facilities also. The beds were so comfortable and allowed a fantastic nights sleep so much so that a member of our party asked Mathew where he could purchase the same matres. The bar and restaurant area was very busy so I would imagine that you would be better off booking and whilst we did not eat that evening at the Inn (had another party to go to) having a drink in the bar the food we saw coming out of the kitchen looked and smelt delicious. We did have the full English breakfast the following morning and can honestly say it was superb and cooked to perfection. Anyone wanting a stay or even just somewhere to eat then I would recommend this little Inn to you, we will definitely be returning

Beautiful are of West Yorkshire lots of character and charm. The Piece Hall is a spectacular piece of history and Architecture which, is being preserved by the trustees imaginative use of the grand space. Shopping, eateries, bars, seasonal events and entertainment. And, now it’s hosting some big name bands and doing really well. Lots of little market towns (Think - last of the summer wine) & historically rich in and around Halifax Town. Lots to do for entertainment if you visit

Supposed to be secured front door only access was a code provided but on arrival doors were open. On message to property they said they will get engineer out as no body as told them. That was not true as we met another guy staying at property and said he had told them several times.
Floor boards up in room letting in slugs and again told them and they said sorry and thanks for letting them know as first time this as happened, again not true as read other reviews.

Halifax has a wide range of shops, pubs and fun things to do. Everything is fairly close together and there's plenty of places to park your car. There's a great choice of places to eat from the big names such as McDonalds, Burger King, KFC as well as some more independent eateries, including a Greek restaurant. Halifax town centre also has a cinema, mini golf, the famous Piece Hall which often has live music, markets and more.

The Piece Hall was great to tour round with lots of individual shops and places to eat & drink.
The Minster is interesting & worth viewing and there is a reasonable shopping centre.
At the moment there are lots of road works which for an outsider quite difficult to negotiate.
I first learned if the Inn thru booking.com in 2019. I have stayed there seven times since. it is every bit as charming and comfortable as the pictures, but what makes the real difference is the staff. Without exception, I’ve been treated like a special guest every time I walk in the door, regardless of who I deal with. Oh, and the restaurant is not only the best in the area, but one of the best I’ve eaten in, anywhere, and I travel all over the world. Breakfast alone is terrific, but dinners are over the moon!
Staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. The room was elegant and comfortable with a nice view over trees to distant hills. Lots of car parking space. Breakfast was not included but it was good value and delicious. The hotel is in a nice old building with a lively bar two floors below the rooms. No problem with noise. Excellent value for money.
Beautiful room, excellent atmosphere with all of the original features on show. Tasteful and carefully considered updates to windows to make them secure and practically sound proof by making false wall in the period style of the property. An absolute gem in the heart of Halifax, will definitely be back if I can find a date when it's available!
Great location and very near the train station (although it is uphill on the way there so I took a taxi up the hill, but walked back for my return). The hotel room was fine--the basics. But, it was clean enough and the bed was okay and it's in a good area with lots to see and do. It's only about 2 blocks from the famous Piece Hall.
Gorgeous boutique style hotel. Made to feel very welcome. Setting is gorgeous. Bar dishes and breakfast both delicious. I wish we stayed for a week! Only a few mins taxi ride to Halifax (we stayed for a gig at Piece Hall) so why would you stay at basic city centre hotels when you have luxury down the road for the same price?
Excellent breakfast and evening meal, beautiful location, clean/comfortable rooms. The staff went way beyond my expectations when my car was damaged. Ian organized my windscreen to be covered, took delivery of my hire car and removal of my damaged car. All the staff are a credit to the hotel.
Comfortable, quirky, and everything you need.
Location was perfect for the purpose of the visit (sadly attending a funeral)
Felt safe as a solo traveller.
I always prefer space to just a hotel bedroom, but like something a little unique and not boring.
Great location in centre of town. Nice old hotel with very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent value including good filling breakfast. Recommended place to stay. Easy to get from Halifax to other more local touristy places.
Room was lovely and absolutely spotless. Comfy bed and plenty towels and good tea/coffee options. Really close to a bus stop in/out of Halifax - it doesn't run late but handy for daytime.
Very helpful staff. Big room with a seating area and a nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. Good quality breakfast. The hotel is in an impressive building. Brilliant value for money.
I booked the hotel and emailed to service.if I.could delay.for five days later due.to family member being in a and e.- never answered and just.took my.money.
The breakfast was adequate as my husband likes full breakfast and I like Continental
The hotel was near the centre of Halifax and had its own car park.
