I LOVED everything about this place and truly enjoyed every minute of my stay. The rooms are picture perfect, the breakfast was fantastic and the staff members were super kind and helpful. My only regret is that I booked only 1 night here - but I will definitely come back again because this place is a rare gem. Highly recommended!

Good - The marvellous Piece Hall event and retail space, surrounding walking country and its towns, some cracking craft beer bars, trad boozers and friendly locals. Train links to Manchester, Leeds, Bradford and Calderdale (although the actual rail station is poor for such a large town). Some interesting shopping arcades and stunning architecture here and there. A few decent dining options other than the usual muck in a tray. Proper bus station, services a bit hit-and-miss. Not overly touristy. Bad - A hotch-potch of closed-up shops and run-down housing projects brings the town down a shade, street-drinking, everything closes early, poor bus links on Sundays. Needs investment but it's had some and it shows. Probably very different outside of the music season, but definitely a town on the up and I'm rather fond of it. I'd return.

We stayed for a gig at The Piece Hall and it was a brilliant venue. The next day we visited the shops there and found some lovely items. Great choice of places to eat around the town centre. Would definitely recommend a trip to Halifax!

I really enjoyed exploring Halifax's town centre and admiring the stunning architecture. The concerts at the Piece Hall are an absolute highlight, and I highly recommend visiting again the next morning to browse the wonderful independent shops.

My third visit to Halifax and introducing a friend to this town with striking architecture, historic buildings, a vibrant shopping centre with lots of good restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars, and she loved it too. Our main aim was to visit Bankfield Museum, which is an absolute gem.

Never been before - well located in a tree lined bowl and the old and new architecture had been successfully blended in similar colour stone. Really liked Halifax. Had what you needed in terms of restaurants and we really enjoyed the gig at the Piece Hall which was a wonderful building. Only thing for us in our mid 60's is that we have announced our retirement from standing only gigs but that is us not Halifax or the Piece Hall's fault.

An often overlooked city, but a little gem.

An often overlooked city, but a little gem. The surrounding countryside is gorgeous. The high street has all the usual commodities, there's a few little markets and independent stores around the city, but the absolute star of the show is the Piece Hall. It's stunning. It feels as though you're in a different country, we took time to walk around all of it and found some absolute treasures. We had two days to explore the city and stayed one night. We found some really lovely bars and nice places to eat. We will certainly be back for another visit.

I think the gardens surrounding this charming, characterful hotel are some of my favourite of all time. My mum and I were fortunate enough to experience some lovely sunny weather and a glass of wine here felt extremely special and luxurious. The room was immaculate and the staff were so friendly and informative.

Hotel is located very close to Halifax train station. The reception team were very efficient in answering any queries we had prior to our stay and enabled early check-in (although this is not guaranteed, as it depends on the room availability). Overall we found the hotel was good value for money.
