Shibden Mill Inn, hotel in Halifax

Just 3 miles from Halifax, this family-run 17th-century inn has an award-winning restaurant offering excellent locally sourced food and a cosy bar. There is free Wi-Fi and traditional log fires.

Close enough for us to get to a concert at the Piece Hall. The rooms are lovely. Staff were very helpful. The little baked biscuits in the room on arrival are a nice touch. The evening meals are fantastic. This was our second visit and we will most definitely be coming back.

The location was great. The view from our room across the valley to Shibden Hall was beautiful. There was a great pub just at the end of the road for evening meals. The owners and staff were lovely people and very helpful. We would go back there again and would recommend it to friends.

It was a pleasant stay, the room was good for the price, WiFi was excellent but there was a lot of stairs because there is no lift to upper floors, on booking.com there is a false information that there is no parking on site, but when we got there there was a parking across the road for hotel guest for £5 over nights, if this information was stated on the website I would of drive there instead of spending more money on trains,

Beautiful are of West Yorkshire lots of character and charm.

Beautiful are of West Yorkshire lots of character and charm. The Piece Hall is a spectacular piece of history and Architecture which, is being preserved by the trustees imaginative use of the grand space. Shopping, eateries, bars, seasonal events and entertainment. And, now it’s hosting some big name bands and doing really well. Lots of little market towns (Think - last of the summer wine) & historically rich in and around Halifax Town. Lots to do for entertainment if you visit

Supposed to be secured front door only access was a code provided but on arrival doors were open. On message to property they said they will get engineer out as no body as told them. That was not true as we met another guy staying at property and said he had told them several times. Floor boards up in room letting in slugs and again told them and they said sorry and thanks for letting them know as first time this as happened, again not true as read other reviews.

Halifax has a wide range of shops, pubs and fun things to do. Everything is fairly close together and there's plenty of places to park your car. There's a great choice of places to eat from the big names such as McDonalds, Burger King, KFC as well as some more independent eateries, including a Greek restaurant. Halifax town centre also has a cinema, mini golf, the famous Piece Hall which often has live music, markets and more.

Shibden Mill Inn is an absolutely exquisite place. This is probably one of the finest hotels, restaurant, Inn that we have come across. Truly wonderful eye for every detail around the property, it’s an interior designers paradise. Beautifully kept gardens, with the sounds of flowing waters from the stream/river across from the hotel. Our room was absolutely divine! The staff are beautifully trained, with lovely smiles and our interactions were delightful. The food….breakfast, lunches ,dinner, drinks are just Wow 🤩

We travelled to Halifax by train and found the hotel very easily, just up the road from the station. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay, in particular the General Manager Joseph Belibi We were invited to a Caribbean meal on the first night and had some excellent cocktails The water was hot for showers and the rooms were cleaned every day.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, providing excellent recommendations on things to see and do in the area and were obviously part of a happy team. The hotel is indeed a 'hidden gem' on the outskirts of Halifax. The room was comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were both excellent and the hotel was good value for money.

We chose The Imperial Crown Hotel as it was only a short distance from the Piece Hall were we were going to see Bryan Adams. The hotel is very clean and so welcoming. Perfect for an overnight stay. Thoroughly enjoyable.
