That it was in the middle of nowhere and actually really loved the fact that there was no phone signal. So was able to completely switch off for the weekend. Loved that there was board games to play and loved how friendly vicky was :)
Originally a 19th century church, the Inversnaid Bunkhouse offers a restaurant and a bar, along with stained glass windows.

Absolutely LOVED this place! What a special wee gem of a place. From the moment Ross picked us up in the courtesy car to the moment Will checked us in and throughout, they couldn't have tried harder to make your stay feel special. From recommendations on the beers to general chat.
When walking the WHW you can feel like a sausage in a sausage factory with each place just cranking the handle, but not here.
And the bistro food was superb- such an unexpected surprise for budget accommodation.

Staff were great, and the hotel was spacious and well organised. Our room was very comfortable, bathroom a little pinched, bedding and towels of good quality. Food , evening meal and breakfast was good - the cooked breakfast a little too pre-prepared, so scrambled egg ( the only egg choice) was less appetising than it should have been. No decaf coffee available. But overall pretty good, nicely served and good value/

The games room was a winner for our family, kids absolutely loved it. Karaoke was a hit for the adults. Gorgeous property with stunning views. Would definitely book to stay here again.
We stayed here when doing the West Highland Way long walk...
We stayed here when doing the West Highland Way long walk and this accomodation was basic as expected. The staff were really welcoming and helpful and the food was the best we had from the 6 different stops we made on the walk. We would stay here again.

Location and rooms were wonderful.
Location and rooms were wonderful.
Everything was well arranged but it would have been nice to have got a welcome when we arrived. Left to ourselves was very easy and convenient and Kelly was very kind and informative the next day on the farm tour (recommended).
Just felt a bit left out in arrival.

Fabulous!
Fabulous! The room was lovely, nice decor and everything you could need, even the mirror in the bathroom had a magnifying section which is handy when you are blind as a bat and putting on make up! Views are outstanding and just so peaceful. Hosts were amazing, nothing too much trouble, even made up a sofa bed for my daughter when we arrived. Had a tour of the smallholding the next morning after a fab breakfast thanks to Paul. So interesting how this couple have made this their home and business. Could not have been any more helpful, would thoroughly recommend and will defo be back. Thank you Paul and Kelly X

Excellent as a one night stay while touring/travelling.
Excellent as a one night stay while touring/travelling.
Camping is also an option on the lawn and using the facilities/restaurant.
Possibly not great for a long stay as holiday options better from Aberfoyle or Callander or Balloch

Amazing views, ferry service to tarbet good. Unless you like walking and admiring amazing scenery theres not much else to do. Great for a short getaway to countryside. Super stop over for those doing west highland way - little haven for those brave souls!

31st October is obviously the end of the 'tourists season'...
31st October is obviously the end of the 'tourists season' here as a good few of the local eateries were closed and we had to travel into Aberfoyle and back each night for food. This road is one road up and the same road back, it is single track and VERY twisty and hilly subsequently not a good road at night!
I have stayed here before and knew what to expect. The rooms are very basic but that doesn't take anything away from our experience. There was space outside to have an outdoor drink after a hard day of walking and the dining room etc. upstairs is amazing. We were able to hire out the hot tub and it was a great relief for our weary legs. The staff were very helpful and have obviously went to great care to make everything COVID safe. Well done Inversnaid Bunkhouse.
Fantastic hostel. Reasonably priced. Great hot, powerful showers and very helpful staff. They cater really well for our vegan and gluten free family. The food is of a high standard, which is very impressive for a hostel. They can also make you a pack lunch for your next day's walking or cycling. Basic but clean bunk room which is all we needed. Would highly recommend Inversnaid to any traveller.
I can’t recommend the Garrison Of Inversnaid highly enough!! Such a lovely relaxing break!
Fantastic location, rooms were beautiful, shower is great, bed so comfy, surroundings are absolutely stunning, breakfast is delicious.
Kelly and Paul are amazing and I would personally like to thank you both for a amazing few days.
We will definitely be back in the near future.

A bit like a bohemian hostel, a really delightful place.
Accomodations range from tent sites, to 2 twin beds with shared bathroom, to large family bedrooms.
Breakfast was modest but adequate & very reasonably priced.
Bistro -restaurant served a variety of dishes, &everything I had was excellent, from soup to mains to dessert.
Would stay again.
It's a pretty location. On a more practical point, it's only a mile from the West Highland Way, handy for walkers when other places (like the big Inversnaid hotel) are closed.
Inversnaid might be a long way from the nearest shops, but they have a little shed which functions as an honesty box for snacks & drinks.
We had the breakfast and it was amazing, a huge selection of freshly sourced food, it kept us going all day!! We also took the farm tour, it was very informative both about the history of the Garrison Of Inversnaid and Paul and Kelly's journey to make this place so brilliant. Can't wait to go back.
Great bunk house, great location with a view of a river flowing into Lock Lomond, restaurant served good food The staff were welcoming. They even picked us up from Inversnaid port on our arrival after a very long hike over the rocks of Lock Lomond. I would def stay here again
The couple running the accommodation were extremely friendly and happy to help with any questions. The slow cooked dinner and breakfast were high quality. The location was fantastic being up on the hillside above Inversnaid with beautiful views over the countryside.
This property is beautiful and has such an interesting history.
We ordered dinner from our host and it was delicious.
Our stop while walking the West Highland Way was comfortable and it was a treat to enjoy the hot tub in the evening.
We have stayed at the Garrison before, and it was so lovely to be able to return. Kelly and Paul are just fantastic hosts. There is nothing not to love about the Garrison of Inversnaid and its owners. We'll be back again soon.
The place is great. We never before felt so welcomed. The staff were ready to fulfill all our wishes, always with a smile. The shared bathrooms are very nice and clean. The food is exeptionaly delicious.
Kerri is great, drove us (my son and me) from inversnaid hotel to garrison.
Place is magnificent. Animals and views to die for.
Next time will definitely book it again!
Very helpful and friendly staff, less than one mile from the West Highland Way. Food was great and we were able to get a packed lunch for our next day.
