Absolutely beautiful area.
Absolutely beautiful area. Very charming downtown with a wide variety of restaurants and shops. Beaches a short drive away. Highly recommend SLO Provisions for breakfast. El Esquina for a delicious meal. Farmers Market on Thursday nights give a wonderful sense of local products, foods and services. Very easy to walk around downtown. Morro Bay is an easy 20 min away. A beautiful drive. Morro Bay is a charming beach filled with local surfers, people walking their dogs or just hanging out to soak in the waves and surrounding beauty.

Close to downtown, shopping and restaurants to include the famous Madonna Inn. We were there to visit our student at CalPoly. Great amenities for our family. Always nice to have extra space in our room with the living room/dining area.

Very pleasant town with access to beautiful hikes.
Very pleasant town with access to beautiful hikes. Easy to get around. I loved how unique all the different buildings and houses were. Food was only decent, but not terrible. Good breweries, too! Very walkable. The highlight was going to the hot spring resort for their hour-use tubs.

Beautiful place to visit.
Beautiful place to visit. University town with a lovely walkable downtown. Lots of restaurants. Many people biking. Close to Pismo and Avila Beach, Morro Bay (and Rock) and the gorgeous central coast.Always love coming to SLO but it can be very pricey. This was a quick family visit so didn’t eat out much. Always find time for a latte at Scout coffee. If you are on a budget, check out hotel prices in advance prior to choosing dates. Inexpensive places jump to over $200 per night during certain weekends.

We went for an early morning run up the convenient bike path into SLO. We had a great tour of the city on foot and visited the El Camino Real sites and the Mission. We ran back through the hills and had a great view of the surrounding areas. Worth returning to visit. High up on the historic trail.

I like that the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the pool area was lit up so beautifully, the jacuzzi was amazing! The beds were very clean and comfortable. For the money we paid, I think it was so worth it. Didn’t feel like a cheap / dirty hotel. The bed sheets and blankets felt good quality.
Also, we were a 6 minute drive from San Luis Obispo, and only a 15 minute drive from Pismo beach.
The location was perfect. A 15 minute walk from the train station in the heart of Downtown. The layout of the room was great. Lots of space dedicated to the bathroom/shower/dressing area. The hotel was modern/rustic with clean lines that were pleasing to the eye. Very quiet. Good food at the in-house restaurant. Did not get a chance to use the pool but very pretty area. The gym was well equipped
Our stay was fine, but this place has no value for money. The rooms are tiny and extremely hot, the cost for the room for one night was $295 Australian which is huge for the tiny room and mediocre facilities. A 4 star hotel in Melbourne would be a similar price with a lot more on offer.. I would recommend finding somewhere else to stay, not worth the money at all.
I've stayed here several times and it's always good. The rooms are quiet and the area is quiet. Jerry is a great guy and he went the extra mile for me when I had a scheduling issue. I think the Sunbeam is the best deal on the central coast and I've stayed at a lot of places around here over the years. Rock on, Jerry!
This is a small motel near the downtown area of SLO. Nothing too fancy but very adequate and reasonably priced. The shower was hot, AC worked great, parking very close to the room and 15 min walk to downtown SLO. We booked it on short notice and worked out just fine. I would stay again.
The hotel was on the fringe of downtown. We walked easily to downtown for restaurants and shopping. I have a large truck so parking it near the room was a bit tight. We used the heater in the room which was more than adequate. Bath/shower was clean, water hot.
Location, quiet even w people checking in & checking out. Enjoyed slider for fresh air. Stayed several nights & noticed cop cars patroling area during day along with other hotel properties in area. Loved Taco Temple next door & sorry to hear it closed. Clean.
The bed was really comfortable!
New table lamps with plug sockets have been installed by bed side to make up for lack of sockets to meet modern traveller requirements (it is an old hotel)
The shower pressure and temperature was good.
Among hotels in this range, this one is pretty good. 60's or 70s construction, 2 story, exterior corridor, rooms renovated pretty recently, nothing fancy. Pretty clean, tile floors in the room (better than rugs IMHO).
