A very well maintained seaside town, even in the suburbs.
A very well maintained seaside town, even in the suburbs. It is obvious that the citizens are satisfied with the municipal government and the parks are full of old people and parents with small children. In summary- LIVING CITY.
But...
Apart from duners and pizzas, there is nothing else to eat on the street. It takes a visit to restaurants, which are always overpriced, in the end.

A port city with a long history; visit the archaeological museum for interesting exhibits and maps. The central old town varies greatly in condition; some of the older buildings are being well maintained, others are gently crumbling. The architecture is an interesting mix of Art Nouveau and Transylvanian, with echoes of the Ottoman presence there.
Many lively cafes and restaurants on Piata Ovidiu. Good fish restaurants down by the leisure port. We liked Camarote for service and value.

Constanţa looks like a city which will be amazing after 2025. Summer of 2023 is not the right time to visit, as the whole city is torn up with buildings and roads being updated at scale.
Great restaurants, and atmosphere. Locals are very friendly and helpful towards tourists. FInding people who speak English is fairly easy in the tourist area, but venture outside of it, and you better be armed with google translate.
Prices are all over the place, you can pay between 5 and 50 for the same thing, so it's really hard to keep track of money. Can pay with card almost everywhere.

It's a small quiet town with nice views.
It's a small quiet town with nice views. It's easy to move around. The authorities take care of streets look neater and newer. However, the beach I visited could have been cleaner. I am not sure of the name of the beach, but it's quiet popular and to reach it you have to go downstairs for a few min.
This town is more suitable for a quiet rest with a family or your spouse. If you are looking for parties or active night life, I believe that Constanţa will not suit you.

Constanta is well worth visiting.
Constanta is well worth visiting. Only about two hours by train from Bucharest, the sea air makes all the difference. The old town is the place to go for restaurants, museums, and for strolls by the sea front. The rest of Constanta is less interesting, though there is a nice park with a lake, an amusement park and a couple of malls in the modern centre. For beaches it is best to head out of town to Costinesti or Vama Veche. The city beaches are nice for a walk out of season, but in the summer they are crowded and dirty.

Constanţa is full of interesting, Roman artifacts and sites, plus has excellent museums. The local restaurants are varied and good quality, too. The downtown is walkable, with a large square where cars are not allowed. The corniche along the Black Sea is well developed, also. We loved the Byblos (Lebanese) restaurant and a little deli with prepared food behind glass, where we ate on the downtown square.
The hotel is beautiful, clean and smells like they burn incense sticks all the time, loved that. The view on the rooftop is so nice, It was great to eat my breakfast and drink my coffee in the morning there. The location was great, in the heart of the city. And the staff is so warm and welcoming, always smiling and there to help. I really loved the experience and i for sure will book a room there every time i will go to Constanta.
We enjoyed very much our tranquil vacation in Constanta. We came after few months traveling and it was exactly what we needed. The appartment was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Good location. We didn't want to drive during vacation and we used the buses to get around I Constanta. There is the bus 5-40 which bus stop is just 100 m from the Prime Location and gets to Mamaia beach in just 10 minutes.
The apartment was well-equipped, clean, and spacious. The location was fairly close to the beach, and the area was peaceful. There was a pharmacy and a supermarket just around the corner, and parking was available in front of the villa. Public transportation was conveniently located 100 meters away, with buses going to Mamaia or the Old Town. The value for the price was excellent.
Fully equipped stylish studio, tiny house style, at 7 minutes walk from the sea. The cozy studio exceeded our expectations, very well decorated, felt more like a home than an accommodation. Amazing host, you'll find everything you need and some extras. Historic center with all the restaurants at 5 minutes walk. Definitely the best choice for Constanta.
Breakfast is on a buffet table and there is a large variety on the coffee machine. For this women's chamber ensemble, the possibilities are excellent. The place is in the old town of Constanta and you can walk around without a car or public transport. There is a market nearby with fresh vegetables and fruits, it is called OBOR in Romanian.
I liked a lot that the room was very spacious and that we had also a table and 2 chairs.
The drapery was not transparent and the sun, or the curious eyes are not a problem.
I also liked that the room had a small balcony
There are 2 gas station nearby and also there is a 24/7 market close to the hotel
Location is ok, 2 km from the center/train station, there is a bus stop nearby. Facilities also pretty good: private room, shared kitchen and bathroom.
In my room I have found very nice booklets about Romania and Constanța written by the host - worth reading, worth staying here!
convenient to bus and railway station. very clean also quiet . Has a big bath! great after a day of travelling. Ideal for transit stop between destinations. Friendly staff. Really excellent breakfast! nice interior courtyard for eating and relaxing. Was a very nice hotel!
Very clean everyday. good bed. Owners speak English and helpful but staff at the reception do not and will yell at you in Romanian . The blonde lady in particular. It's always no no no and no.able to keep one loud family quiet after 10 p.m. so that was nice!
Large and comfortable room, very clean and well equipped. The location is 3 minutes away from Plaja Modern. The breakfast was served at Irish Pub accross the street and it was a pleasant experience. Will definitely returb to Hotel Cherica
The hotel Carol is my favorite one in Constanta! Manager and staff are attentive and friendly! It should be noted special and delicious dishes proposed from cooker Gabi:) The hotel is cozy and comfortable with perfect location!
The location of the hotel is excellent, across the street from the beach, 5 minutes walk to the old center of Constanta. The staff is extremly nice and helpfull. The room is large, comfortable, clean, and it was quiet.
Location is great. 3 min from the beach; in the same time in the city centre and close to Ovidius Square where you can find heaps of restaurants.
Very well positioned within Constanta
Staff of the hotel is great
This was my 5th stay at Hotel Cherica. Comfortable, spotless clean, helpfull and pleasant staff. There is a new opened place for breakfast. Had a great breakfast, fresh fruits, baked goods, great coffee.
The young lady at the reception, I think her name is Laura, she went above and beyond and made sure I receive breakfast to go because I departed the hotel before breakfast was served. Outstanding!
The hotel is ideally located for discovering all the major attractions on foot. It is very clean and the staff is helpful. I also loved the design and the attention to detail.
