Accommodation in Esterillos

We really enjoyed our stay at Marala Hotel. We even extended it for one night, because the hotel was so nice. Everyone is friendly and we even got upgraded for free! I can highly recommend tho hotel to everyone who is looking for a luxury stay with monkeys visiting the hotel everyday!

I picked this place for 3 days total relaxation at the end of a 3 week adventure holiday in Costa Rica as it's within a reasonable drive of SJO airport and it was just what I wanted. It has excellent access to the beach and there are birds and other wildlife around the property, Scarlet Macaws were present, up to 5 at a time for us. The place has it's own bar/restaurant which is good as it is fairly isolated with a long walk or short drive to any other establishments. The staff and owner are very welcoming and helpfull. We had a sea view room which I recommend.

Villa Marala is very beautiful, new, clean, smells nice, has a great view and a really nice pool. The staff was exceptional, the receptionists we dealt with were informative, friendly, spoke man languages and were very accommodating. We asked for a late checkout and the hotel was so gracious that we got to leave 2 hours later since my travel companion wasn't feeling well the day we were supposed to leave, but felt much better later. White face monkeys wake you up and you can see them from your balcony. For some this might be a minus, for us it was a plus since we don't have them at home it was very cool to see them running around. But they don't linger for long so don't worry. The view from the hotel is BEAUTIFUL. You see the ocean and on the other side the jungle. You're near the main road and don't nee a 4x4 to get to the hotel but it's separate enough that you don't feel unsafe. There's plenty of parking, so no need to worry if you bring a car. The beach near the hotel is very nice. It has waves but they're not too bad, but you definitely need to know how to swim if you want to take a dip. The receptionist told us there i a natural pool on the beach where kids and non swimmers can swim, but since we enjoy waves we didn't check it out. Personally, we loved the food in town and would go there to grab a bite if we ever returned to CR.

Amazing, beautiful design hotel on large very nice beach. We loved our stay here.. good breakfast… different pools.

Wow! My boyfriend and I loved our stay here! Everything was thought of at the resort. From the little details in the room, to the numerous hammocks, sitting areas, activities on property, I was able to do yoga every morning and my boyfriend loved that he could rent a surfboard on property and surf right out front. Also, the resturant on property was delisous for lunch and dinner. We will be back very soon!

Amazing place just at the beach right for relaxing and enjoying. Staff is great and all is good.

The huts were part of the environment. There were plants and animals and birds everywhere. We loved the outdoor cooking and eating areas and the outdoor showers. The owner was very helpful and obviously loved his lodge and Costa Rica

A micro paradise, spectacular view, lovely pool, homely, wonderful, friendly, accommodating hosts, wildlife, everything you need. Perfect.

The location right on the beach and the view were great. The amenities of the gated community were also a plus (pools, tennis, etc). It is quiet.
