We stayed here for one night with our little son, and it became one of the most memorable moments of our trip to Japan. Akizuki was even more beautiful and peaceful than we had imagined. Walking through the quiet streets, surrounded by old houses and nature, felt like discovering a small piece of Japan that time had gently left behind. Staying in this beautiful old Japanese house made the experience even more special. Although the house has a long history, it was very clean and comfortable, and our host welcomed our family with such warmth and kindness. The next morning, we took a slow walk through Akizuki with our son. It was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful — one of those simple moments that somehow stays in your memory for a long time. One small thing to keep in mind is that many restaurants in the area close early in the evening, so it is a good idea to plan dinner in advance. Having a car also makes visiting Akizuki much easier. But perhaps that quietness and slight inconvenience are part of what makes this place so charming. We came here simply looking for a place to stay, but we left with a beautiful memory of Akizuki. Thank you for welcoming our family. We would love to come back someday. 😊

We enjoyed our stay in the suite with a wonderful view of Chikugo river. Service was amazing and everyone played an important role to ensure a relaxing and memorable stay. Dinner and breakfast menu were well explained with attentiveness to details and they also went the extra mile to satisfy our preferences. We also appreciate that they took the time to introduce the facilities around the room and building so that we can enjoy our stay to the fullest.

The location is more accessible if you have car, however there are only a 3-4 lots in front of the accommodation. There is a back door to the public onsen next door. We did not use it as we arrived late. However, we did take a dip at the in-house onsen before they are closed at 11pm. Our room can fit 4 futon beds with a little walkway. They have little balcony which is nice. This can be important as we need space to open our luggage. We also got to look at the river from the room before we set off early in the morning. Electronic hot water flask is available. There is also a little welcome snacks in the room. Overall, it is a good stopover stay.

The owner, Tamami-san was a thoughtful host and took great care of us during our stay. The rooms were beautiful and cosy, and the food provided were delicious. The location was optimal and easy to access from the bus-stop.

The house is very beautiful and charming. The host was kind and welcoming. It is well-equipped, very clean, and thoughtfully decorated, making it feel warm and cozy. Parking was also very convenient. It’s a pity we could only stay for one night as we were in a hurry. We would definitely come back next time. Highly recommended!

The house is a well preserved old townhouse, decorated beautifully, with a water stream running through the front yard, which makes the stay a cultural experience on its own. The rooms were comfy and warm. The kitchen had supplies for making a nice breakfast, coffee and tea, which was just what we needed to start the day. The host was helpful and kind.

The overall stay was great! Very classy furnishing and it is also walking distance to the castle ruins. There is one huge room so even baby could run around just in the room alone. Host was very hospitable. Lots of supplies were provided, which we appreciated, like bananas, cereal, milk etc. Heaters were also already on when we arrived.
