Accommodation in Onomichi

Very helpful staff and amazing breakfast! I was staying there for 1 night to do the Onomichi Imabari bike ride, and it was an amazing decision. The hotel is located very near the station, and it was possible to leave the luggage there for the ride duration. I've seen that people were complaining about loud trains at night, but i didn't have this issue

The hotel staff were kind and very helpful. The room was comfortable, and the location was very convenient. It was wonderful to wake up as the sun rose. The breakfast buffet was delicious!

Had an overnight stay with my girlfriend. From the greeting straight out of the taxi, the introduction to the grounds and our room (a whole second story with a view overlooking the ryokan and water!), to the friendly farewell, the experience was exceptional and the staff beyond excellent. The dinner was a surreal pleasure, the highlight of the stay. We could only wish we could stay longer. For us, completely worth it for the price as a special treat.

Our stay at the hotel was exceptional. We enjoyed every moment—from the staff, the ambiance, the room, and the place as a whole. A special mention goes to the dinner we had at the hotel, prepared by Chef Kenya Akita, who undoubtedly deserves three Michelin stars. Chef Akita, a Japanese culinary artist, trained for 13 years in France at a Michelin-starred restaurant before returning to Japan to adapt his extensive culinary expertise to the local cuisine. Every dish was outstanding, both in terms of flavors and aesthetic presentation. The meal was simply extraordinary. Don’t miss it!

Good ish half way point and unbelievable view very clean and modern

Onomichi Guest House Anago-no-Nedoko offers a unique experience, staying in a restored akiya home, and experiencing a historic venue updated with modern conveniences. I wish I could have stayed longer, I really enjoyed it, and appreciated the staff there. Everything was great, will definitely go back when the opportunity arises. Important to add, the location is great for getting to experience the city of Onomichi, as well as kicking off an adventure on the Shimanami Kaido (a ferry to the start of the Shimanami Kaido is about a two minute bike ride away).

Everything was OK. They even sent our luggage succesfully to Imabari cycling station, where we could pick it up 2 days later after riding the shimanami kaido.

This place has a very high standard, a nice place to have a rest. Highly recommend.

Opened April 2026. Spacious hotel, great concept. Stylish sleek design - great bedding - great shower and bathtub, huge terrace belonging to our room which was very relaxing after 80 km cycling. Breakfast simple but of very good quality - we definitely will stay here again when visiting onomichi.

Onomichi was the only place where I spent a long time searching for a hotel. In the end, I was very happy with my choice. Every room has a fantastic view. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely come back!

A truly outstanding stay. The house is a beautifully restored traditional machiya with genuine character — tatami rooms in enfilade, antique tansu, shoji and fusuma, a serene stone-lantern garden at the entrance — yet every modern comfort has been thought through with exceptional taste. The equipment level is well above what you'd expect: Nespresso machine with capsules included, high-quality kitchenware, carefully chosen condiments, premium bath amenities, even a writing desk with notebooks and local stickers as a welcome touch. Everything is brand new, immaculate, and clearly chosen with care rather than just ticked off a list. The hosts' communication was outstanding from start to finish — warm, detailed, and proactive. Pre-arrival instructions were exemplary (check-in, transport, Wi-Fi, even local cycle rental recommendations sent unprompted). On the last day they had four bicycles delivered to the garden as a kind surprise for guests — sadly it rained all day so we couldn't use them, but the gesture says everything about the level of care. The location is perfect: a quiet residential street on the Senkō-ji side of Onomichi, tucked under the green hillside, just a few minutes' walk from Onomichi's busy center, yet a world away from the tourist bustle. You feel like you're staying in a real Onomichi neighbourhood, not a guesthouse zone — exactly the right side of town to experience the city. Five nights here felt like staying in a friend's beautifully kept family home. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Everything was impeccably awesome, besides the hectic walk to get to this place and no laundry facilities, my stay in onomichi is memorable just because of this place. The massage chair was much needed after cycling in from imabari.

Beautiful views from our bedroom window over the harbour and Islands. Excellent location, within walking distance of the town and station. Strong hot shower, comfortable bed and a spacious room. Enjoyed a Thai meal at the restaurant cooked by the host.
