Accommodation in Shingu

Room was super comfortable, had a tiny kettle and a fridge which were very convenient if you wanted to keep food for the next day or boil water for your tea. Also I had to work remote and the wi-fi was strong enough.

Super nice place! The location is incredible, very small village right next to a beautiful river that you can hear the entire time. The host is very sweet and the place is new and neat. Also has very pretty common area with the bamboo mats. Having a morning coffee (grinder and beans provided for free!) with the view on the mountain from this room is the best thing ever. I stayed only one night, but was very reluctant to leave. It felt very homey. Definitely recommend even if you’re not doing kumano kodo. It’s remote, but accessible enough. You can get there with a bus from Shingu, if you’re okay with a little walk to the main road through other pretty villages. Ah, you can also order a bento box for dinner and onigiri. It’s very tasty.

Yoshi the owner is really nice! We have a really good time there. The dormitory, bathroom and kitchen were very clean and the mattres really confy. The location is amazing: near temple, castle, supermarket and train/bus station. It was a really good stop after our days Hiking the kumano kodo trails. Thank you for everything yoshi!!!

The room was comfortable and tidy. The breakfast was tasty.

Well managed, new and comfortable guesy house in Shingu. Everything super clean, stylish and well thought of. The host/owner is very friendly, responsive and informative. Great communcation! Clean and comfortable. Many small details like a variety of towels, drip coffe, water, good aircon that is not placed so you are directly in "the wind" +++ Super value too! Also can't day enough good things avout the owners cocktail bar (Bar BGM). Make sure to pay him a visit there too. Get the Wagyu cutlet sandwich if available, and wnjoy well crafted cocktails. A great experience I will remember for a long time! 😊

Room was very large, very clean, AC as well as ventilation and Air purifier. Dining space was large and not busy. The staff was kind and caring. I’d stay again.

I love this property. The interior is superior. I met the hosts as well and they were super kind. They saw that I'm studying so they brought me ice cream 😭 🩷 I would come back here for sure.

Location worked well for me to treat myself to a night of luxury after 8 days hiking from Tanabe. Facilitipes were good, staff and meals were excellent. Great sunrise views from my room

the gorgeous wooden interior and furnishings, the views out of the french windows overlooking the ocean, the jazz music playing in the communal area accompanied by the sound of the waves crashing onto Nachi beach and last but not least, the kind and friendly guesthouse manager and staff Ana

The apartment is beautiful, the view is stunning, it is well equipped and the hosts were so friendly and welcoming. We had a great stay and would love to come again.

The traditional Japanese room (our favorite on our trip) is clean and comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff, with excellent local tips (it really helped us organize our visit to the Kumano Firework Festival). Perfect location, just 5 minutes from the train station and downtown Shingu (restaurants and convenience stores are also nearby). Free parking is available on site. Recommended.

The premises were very well kept. We enjoyed going around town on the bikes. We have slept on futons in other places that were very hard but these futons were actually comfortable. We stayed here one night before heading into the mountains and for that purpose Shingū was a good stop. Big supermarkets to fuel up for walks.

The host was excellent! She made us feel incredibly welcome, with a nice letter and she even checked in on us after we experienced a small earthquake. The house is very well equipped and has everything one needs including a washing machine.

It was great, quiet, squeaky clean, even had some real coffee! Found a good restaurant just down the road,
