I love how they have partnered with a local fitness club for gym access - I will remember this for next time and pack gym gear. We arrived late in the evening, the location was perfect and walking distance to a few good choices for dinner (Koi Cambridge!). I loved the 11am checkout - it allowed us to walk around the lake after breakfast, freshen up and check out.

Boasting an idyllic lake front setting, Acacia Lake View Motel offers free WiFi. Some rooms feature a balcony. All have a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Incredible motel right at the town center of Taupo. The studio room was squeaky clean, bed was comfortable and the small kitchen was plenty for what we needed. The owners could not have been nicer! Seriously some of the nicest people we’ve ever met. Very helpful, informative and most of all kind. Each room has a parking spot.

Just 5 minutes’ walk from Turangi town centre, Creel Lodge is a 4.5-star Qualmark rated motel offering self-contained suites with a private patio and BBQ facilities. The owners are super friendly and welcoming. The cabin is comfy and spacious. It's pretty close to the Tongariro National Park. We love the river walk connected to the property. Definitely will stay here again if we're visiting the area in the future!
