The property was perfect. Location is great. We stayed for one night before travelling back to the ferry in Nanaimo as the area is much nicer. Beautiful park area not too far away, and some cute cafes/restaurants in the Ladysmith downtown again not too far away. Facilities at the hotel were amazing, pool & gym too. Rooms were spacious, and beds were comfortable. Staff were really kind too.

We loved the big room with great views over the orchard to the inlet and mountains. The staff were very friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations and we were given an ample, freshly cooked breakfast.

I have always liked Ladysmith and now we have friends living...
I have always liked Ladysmith and now we have friends living there it's a perfect excuse to visit. Transfer Beach is wonderful for all ages. We happened upon a wonderful authentic English pub called the Crow & Gate which is quite lovely with great food and friendly staff. A wonderful place to visit and explore with trails, waterfalls, antique and other shops along with a bakery that makes the most amazing cinnamon buns.

First impressions: Great little town with a lot to see. We would have liked to have spent a bit more time there to really explore the harbour, seafront and the town itself. Unfortunately our timetable was too tight. Would love to visit again.

The Gabriola Ferry crew is a wonderful team. Very friendly and purposeful about their job. Short and sweet sailing!
The beaches are insanely beautiful! I saw deer and wild turkeys too. I usually only hear about Victoria and Tofino, but Gabriola is a hidden gem. Very warm and friendly people live here and there is a peaceful calm that you cannot find on the larger islands! WILL DEF COME AGAIN!

Small (walkable) town, pretty, touristy, worth visiting to see the murals and/or to attend the top notch theatre productions,. Coupled with an excellent buffet meal it's a great theatre experience.

We love Ladysmith.
We love Ladysmith. It has a certain ambiance that we warm to. Of course we join the many others who love the Old Town Bakery.
You need a car to really get around Ladysmith and environs.There isn't anything we would avoid.

Very good base for exploring the region. There are several good hiking routes around. There are ferry terminals that connect the island tto Vancouver and other small islands nearby. There are big shopping centers as well.

Visiting the Malaspina Galleries rock formation is a must see, close to the ferry terminal. Driving around the island is easy, although there are some unpaved roads that cross the centre.

Our stay was between the town of Nanaimo and Ladysmith.
Our stay was between the town of Nanaimo and Ladysmith. The lodge did not have a cafe, so we had to drive 11 km to get supper. I know the town of Ladysmith from past experience and it is a beautiful little town with lots of shops and restaurants. Great place to visit.

Airport was accessible and top notch for service - loved how small it was.
