We went to celebrate my birthday.
We went to celebrate my birthday. Victoria is an amazing city. Foodies would love it, the locals are very friendly and helpful.
The crime element was not visible to us, nor was the homeless.
The immigration and customs process, both going and coming from Port Angeles ferry was efficient and fast.
I can't wait to return to Vancouver Island!

We stayed one night after landing on the island from Vancouver ferry. It was easy to find and the rooms clean and spacious. There was a pool and hot tub available alongside the spa. Staff were very helpful and friendly and our meal at the restaurant full of local produce. It was a great stay and perfect if you wanted to take the ferry to Mill Bay

The Kinsol Trestle and Malahat Skywalk are nearby and should be visited. Spectacle Lake is very close and great for short hikes. If driving to/from the Saanich Peninsula, take the small Brentwood Bay to Mill Bay BC ferry.

Saanichton seems like a nice place.
Saanichton seems like a nice place. We stayed at Motel 6 because it was right near the hospital, where my daughter was going to have surgery. There was a restaurant (White Spot) close by. There was a pharmacy and a food store quite close.

Victoria is a location that people like to visit.
Victoria is a location that people like to visit. So there are a lot of us wandering around the streets :) That said, it is a very well organized and tourist-friendly city. There is something for everyone-the Harbor, the magnificent Legislative buildings and the Empress Hotel. The Royal Museum, the Maritime Museums, to name a few. Chinatown is a short walk from the harbor central area. Numerous heritage building in the Old Town area. In short, a very walkable and interesting city. And a great place to stay if you are visiting the beautiful Butchart Gardens. A must-see!

A well appointed location, immediately beside the Mill Bay ferry to Vancouver Island, avoiding the unpredictable Malahat highway, Butchart Gardens and Butterfly World and several other fun options.
Small, intimate facility with all the necessary ammenities.

It's hard to answer this as Malahat refers to a stretch of highway rather than a city or town but it was beautiful. The highway is quite busy most of the time and it's easy to miss your turn offs but there are a lot of U-turn areas as well. There are a few lovely natural areas/lakes/parks in the area that are great for hiking and enjoying. A vehicle is needed but it's only a half hour or less into Victoria as well.

Beautiful place next to water views.
Beautiful place next to water views. Beware there is no kitchen, just a breakfast bar. Toaster, microwave, and small refrigerator. No freezer for ice.
There is no dining table. If you like to eat out. This is your place!
Living space is very well played out.

We enjoy Victoria so much as it is a quieter city and easy to get around, nothing is too far away. Traffic is lighter and it is just an enjoyable picturesque place to be. We enjoyed eating food from the Whole Foods buffet as we were able to pick and choose from an assortment of healthy items.

The top floor unit we rented was well furnished (very comfy bed) and quite large. The area is very close to Butchard Garden which is why we chose this property as we wanted to be able to take our time to visit the garden in detail. The location of the house/unit is in a very peaceful surrounding. Very quiet at night. We could also go for walks nearby. There are some restaurant and grocery stores in the nearby village (The Villages Pizza in Brentwood Bay was soo delicious).
