The Ibis Geneve Aeroport hotel is located in Cointrin, 10 minutes drive from the centre of Geneva, close to the international airport (free shuttle) and the Palexpo exhibition centre. Very good position near the railway station Genève Aéroport (on foot go left on the pedestrian bridge and then right on the pedestrian path). Internet works well. Very good breakfast.
Nash Pratik Hotel features accommodation in Cointrin. With a terrace, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. The property provides a 24-hour front desk. I arrived on the opening day and everything was very obviously brand new and fresh. It was nice to be the first person to sleep on a brand new bed! I did not realise that Switzerland had different power sockets to the rest of Europe, so I pleased to find two USB charging points to charge my phone and some camera equipment. Staff were very friendly, and there is a free shuttle bus to the airport that runs every 20 minutes.

HotelF1 Genève Aéroport Ferney Voltaire offers accommodation in Ferney-Voltaire, just 5 km from Geneva Airport. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property. The rooms have a flat-screen TV. I was looking for a place that is cheap and close to the airport.
This Campanile hotel offers high-quality accommodation and excellent value for money. The dedicated staff welcomes you in a friendly atmosphere. Clean room, pleasent reception lady. I advise
Première Classe Genève Prévessin is located on the Franco-Swiss frontier 6 km from Geneva Airport and 9 km from Lake Léman. It offers rooms with cable TV. pretty much ticked all boxes for a handy stopover accommodation service.
Novotel Genève Aéroport France is located in France only 10 minutes from Geneva Airport and 20 minutes from the heart of Geneva. It features a swimming pool. The hotel consists of 80 guestrooms. Good location, service, cleanliness, comfy beds, good WiFi, lovely interior, perfect place to stay...
Transportation and museums are for free for the tourists. Walking down the river is pleasant and romantic. I like the "restaurant" close to the lighthouse, ordering fondue. The other tipical dish is reclette, if you are a cheese person. If not, do not worry, there are enough American, Italian, Japanese etc restaurants. I went also to a farmer market. Botanic garden is very beautiful. Maybe I couldn't find river junction beautiful enough. May be it was too cold and cloudy, that's why. The service is strange. The people do not really like to speak English. Many restaurants were without translation in the menu.Next time I will definitely visit the mountain.
Great and beautiful city, living here for some years now. Very clean city, but expensive city. Good and attractive sites and location for tourists. Excellent transportation system, with most hotels giving you free public transport ticket for the entire duration of your stay, no matter how long or short. Beautiful and variety country based restaurants serving both english and continental dishes. Home for the best chocolates in the world and of the UN and more than 200 other international organisations. Great lakes. Geneva is generally a very beautiful city to visit especially during summer.
Like several Swiss cities, Geneva is in a fabulous position on a big lake and between the mountains. Public transport within the city is superb, helped for all visitors by the free passes handed out by all hotels, hostels and campsites, and even by the free ticket available in the baggage reclaim at the airport. Great views over the city and lake, Mont Blanc and the Jura mountains are available if you take the number 8 bus to Veyrier Douane and then the Mont Saleve cable car. There are also plenty of opportunities to promenade along the lake shore and the river bank.
Geneva was nice and picturesque. Sadly it was so foggy the whole time we didn't get to see the lake at all. But we still had a good walk along it. We ate at Ma Cousine which is just on Bourg Du Four right in the centre and at 15chf for half a chicken salad and provencale potatoes an absolute steal and delicious. We were there on a Sunday so everything was closed but the market and fair at Plainplaisance was great to walk around as well as the main centre.
We spent one night and day in Geneva and found this was a perfect amount of time to see and experience the city. It is super expensive and personally, I wouldn't recommend spending longer than necessary here when you can visit other cities with more to offer, at half the price. We managed to see The Old Town, Lakeside, United Nations and CERN, all in about three hours - Geneva is quite small! We ate at Hotel Armures in the Old Town, amazing fondue and not too expensive! Can't really speak for the bars as we were there on a Sunday night and most bars were closed. Hotels provide you with a travel card which covers tram, bus, train (which gets you to the airport) and the little yellow boats you see on the lake, makes things easy!
Holy Cow and Au Petit Chalet were lovely places for reasonably priced food, especially in a city where the cost of living is so high. Getting round Geneva is very easy thanks to the excellent public transport system, which is free for tourists. Also very easy to walk around the centre. I would avoid the area on the left bank, away from the river up towards Rue De Lausanne, it wasn't the nicest area, didn't feel very safe. Best to stick to the right bank and around Gare Cornavin towards Plainpalais.
8.4 Very good 4,304 reviews
Lovely rooms and facilities that can't be faulted; however you have to find the hotel in the first place. It needs to be clearer that the Ibis shuttle from GVA does not go to this hotel and that you need to catch a public bus. Whilst it is close to the airport, we arrived late at night, in the rain, with luggage and children so walking wasn't an option. We got a cab in the end, much to the disappointment voiced by the cab driver who no doubt would have liked a better fare.

Perfect location, friendly staff. Enjoyed my stay greatly at the new Nash Suites. The room was very spacious and very well equipped. The kitchenette in the room was a huge plus, not to mention the location to the Geneva International Airport.

Location location location! Next to Cornavin Train Station or Geneve. If you have an early flight this is perfect as there is one quick train from Cornavin that takes you to GVA in 7 minutes.
