Known for its international diplomacy, Geneva is the gateway city to the Swiss Alps and contains many international organisations that lend the lake-side city a cosmopolitan flair. It is filled with the best in cuisine, diverse languages and people, and top 5-star hotels.

Parc des Bastions offers tree-lined walks and a game of giant chess and Parc de la Grange is a green space situated on the Lake Geneva promenade. Jet d'Eau, a 140-metre high fountain in the centre of Lake Geneva is beautifully lit at night.

Everyone is welcoming and friendly and the city is extremely clean.
Even in August the city was peaceful to walk around and enjoy.
Trains are plentiful and easy , to get to the airport is just 7 mins !

It is a beautiful city, with magnificent views, both on the lake and the mountains beyond (in a clear day). Beautifully groomed, exquisite shops, very expensive, with a picturesque old city. It is not a city with vibrant cultural activity or atmosphere.

Beautiful city, easy to navigate. Seemed very safe. Excellent weather in August. The hotels were very affordable, but meals could be quite expensive. Hotel stays came with free "transport card" allowing free use of all public transportation modes - buses, trains, and even water taxis.

It is a relatively small city, but it has a lot of hidden gems to see. If you are new here, you may want to hire a guide, or do some deeper research before your visit. Also feel free to just wonder around, you may accidentally find something special yourself :-)

Expensive, full of the super rich or those wannabies super rich parading around the place pouting and generally looking miserable .
The place just made me feel so out of place , not one shop within reach of normal people and there was literally just shops , nothing else.
Sorry Geneva but I really did not like your vibe , people we met were lovely , taxi driver, waiters, hotel staff all nice people eat in a local Italian and thevibe there was good as we were outside the centre

I think Geneva is underated in things to do and sites nearby. Visiting CERN, Annecy FR, United Nations, Red Cross, or the Olympic Museum can easily be done by train, boat, or bus. The scenery is spectacular and and many local vineyards have tours. Taking a boat ride gives a good layout of the surrounding activities.

Perfectly clean, very modern but not without character, friendly and professional staff, lots of those little amenities that make all the difference (standard toiletries + a few extras I didn't expect, nice touch with nuts, dates and tea/coffee available in common spaces, complimentary water, etc). Honestly the best hotel in it's class in Geneva, from someone who has samples ALL OF THEM for work in the last few months!

The hotel is located between the airport and the city centre with excellent traffic connections for local transport (both trams and busses). Rooms are enough specious and have basic amenities with good cleanliness. Also, I find very convenient to have one of the largest malls in Geneva just 50m from the hotel.
