We were going to Wewelsburg castle and this was very close. The rooms were lovely, fresh, crisp and clean. Staff were lovely and the restaurant superb.

Don't be put off by the gloomy hall from the car parking entrance. Very friendly owners and good restaurant. Comfortable accommodation and delicious breakfast.

Spacious apartment. The photos don't show it enough but this is a big 1 bedroom apartment with one living room (sofa bed there) and kitchen / diner.
Sleep - you will notice the lack of noise. This apartment is in a quiet part of the town. Also, the window shutters make the room black which is great for good night sleep.

We lived in Paderborn for four years so re-visited our old haunts. The cathedral is beautiful. The Christmas market was ok but not as good as Hameln. Great location to branch out to other towns and places of interest in Germany.

This is a quiet, old and very historical town, lots of character and old buildings to see. You can walk around the old walls and enjoy the views and there are a few other buildings to visit.
The Hexenturm wasn't open when we visited as hoped.

Christmas market worths to mention.
Christmas market worths to mention. You should not visit Heinz Nixdorf Computer Museum which is one of the largest of its kind. Be careful there is a speed camera next to Lidl where the speed drops from 70 to 30 km/h even on Saturdays.

We picked Paderborn as a stopover as it was a convenient distance from our ferry port.
A modern town and not particularily attractive it does have a good selection of shops.
When the shops close the whole feel of the town changes,we felt uneasy just walking about,large groups drinking in the park and many beggars and street people,very different from our experience in other towns in Germany.
