The facilities were really great, the room super spacious and I loved that there was always water, tea and coffee available. Herman was super kind and helped me with many tips about the city and also supported me with some logistical matters.

The staff were very attentive, kind and considerate. The property is beautiful, well maintained, with lovely gardens, a number of different sitting and lounging areas near the pool and beach. The food was delicious and well presented.

Coconut Garden was amazing.
The room was wonderful, the open air bathroom one of a kind and huge! The staff was amazing, they also find more soft pillows for the bed and they clean and change towels every day. They have a super nice breakfast with fresh fruit and a dish of your choice and the food was delicious! They prepared us a breakfast box (not so rich though) to take to the volcano trip! The tour to Pulau Babi was very well organized and the snorkeling was great… not to mention the fresh grilled fish at Babi Island!!!! The pampered us in many ways and we spent there wonderful relaxing days.

Anyone travelling to Maurmere should be aware there are...
Anyone travelling to Maurmere should be aware there are severe problems with the local airport. It can be closed due to volcanic activity and if it is you will have almost no way of confirming or arranging other travel except by road.
Maumere itself is pretty low service. There are no restaurants except very small local Warungs where you cannot guarantee hygiene. If staying at Cocnut beach it has a great reasturant and facilities but be aware you will likely not leave the hotel accept to do activities such as visit the Kelimutu Volcano which can also be done from other towns.

I went island hopping and snorkeling at a couple of small islands near Maumere. The underwater scenery was beautiful. Healthy corals and schools of fish.
Maumere is a Catholic city. There's a big Jesus and Mother Mary statue. The traditional market is also interesting as you can find local woven fabric.
