Our unit that we stayed in was great. Plenty of room for us, great kitchen facilities and plenty of linen. I loved the 'cautionary' messages that reminded us to do things to enhance our stay (like closing the windows at night so the bugs don't get in).

Perfect facilities for our 3 couples and 2 young kids. 4 bedrooms with a living room couch for insomniacs or snorers. Two full baths. Far enough from downtown to avoid the sulfur smells, but close enough to drive there in minutes. Quiet neighborhood.

If you are into kayaking and mountain biking nothing beats Rotorua . We also had fun zip lining on this trip. However , we unfortunately got a lot of rain . We haven’t been to Rotorua since before Covid and the town has changed . Eat street for dinner is great but little else in town and it feels run down. However, the mountain biking is fantastic and the round the forest track and the new hub on the way to the Blue Lake is great . We also can recommend canopy tours zip lining 😀

Great escape from the rat race of city life and traffic. How life is designed to be lived. Quick trip to Rotorua for a few hours if you’re wanting a little more people especially the market which the host can tell you about.

Hamurana is a beautiful, quiet spot on the outskirts of Rotorua.
Close enough to all the attractions with the added bonus of peace and quiet.
Our accommodation on the Lake edge was so tranquil and peaceful we 'hunkered ' down for the weekend choosing only to venture out for walks.

Shower recess had no shower caddy & products had to be placed on the floor. Beds were uncomfortable. Enclosed verandah couldn’t be used as it was very musty & smelly. No adequate wine glasses. Salt provided but no pepper. BBQ had no protection from the rain. Turn in off road was difficult due to gate. View was nice. Place was clean. Wifi was dodgy. No fly screens, so couldn’t open windows.

Highlights are redwood forest. But I believe we should have done the walking trail on Day, as during the night we can't feel the height.
Night trail was full of disco laser lights, which are very artificial.
The Hakka performance was very good.IIf you don't want to spend the money on expensive hakka dinner, book the show only in afternoon. No need to waste your money to visit geo thermal activity as nearby park got many active boiling springs. The very best experience is the park got two small foot pools where you can dip your feet in hot spring which is ofcourse free but very refreshing after the day activities as if you are taking the foot massage in China. Google Kuirau Park Footbaths to locate it

Great location - away from the bustle of Rotorua - but just a quick drive to get into town. Super close to the amazing Okere Falls cafe and lovely bush walk. Easy access to zip lining, sledging and white water rafting. Relaxing space, and a little less sulphur smell than other areas around the lake.

Rotorua is a unique and interesting city with strong Māori culture and many natural attractions. I enjoyed the geothermal areas, cultural experiences, and the relaxed atmosphere. It is a great place to visit for a short trip and to experience something different in New Zealand.
