Marine Apartments provides air-conditioned accommodations in Honiara. The whole apartment was spacious, new and clean. Big kitchen with fridge. The aircon worked great (important in the solomons). The owner was super helpful and responsive. Because my flight was delayed, she arranged a late check in in the very last minute. And overall she was always very helpful and accommodating. The area felt safe and i felt like home. Great value fir money.

The rooms are terraced along a steep hillside, and serviced by a cable car. I stayed on the top level (4th). Ride the car up, and then walk back down the meandering paths, surrounded by beautiful tropical gardens. Great views of the town and ocean from private balcony. The rooms themselves are simple and budget - but overall the setting and location is perfect.

Island Home in Honiara provides accommodations with a garden and a shared lounge. The location is actually amazing. You get to experience a different kind of Honiara, away from a busy main street. When I was walking down the hill to the city center, I was surprised at the kindness of the whole community around. Children playing around, everyone greeting me... very nice walk (there is a minibus from town available, but I actually preferred to walk, for the experience of meeting all the locals on my way) The lodge is a family run business. Beautifully situated, with nice clean rooms and common area. I really loved JR, who is a caretaker of the lodge. Cheers to you and your family man!
