Super clean and tidy room, staff was very friendly
Less than 2 miles from the shores of Lake Huron, this hotel features guest rooms with cable TVs and free WiFi. An indoor pool and hot tub are featured on site.

There were quite a few things I loved. First off the day we checked in I got a morning phone call because I screwed up the booking. I got 1 bed for 3 adults (1 single and 1 couple). Eeek. That would have been bad lol. But it thankfully was caught by the staff! We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The pool are was very clean. I don’t have kids but it was very cool to see a small indoor playground and a few other activities. Our room was average and clean. The beds were very comfortable. I haven’t been to a hotel with beds that comfortable in a while. All the staffs were kind and pleasant.
Set in Alpena, Big Bear Lodge offers barbecue facilities. Each accommodations at the motel has lake views, and guests can enjoy access to a garden and to a terrace.

Big Bear Lodge is quaint, just what I pictured for a place up north. It had an exceptional shower, that didn't run out of hot water.

Be sure to visit the Art at the loft.
Be sure to visit the Art at the loft. Amazing Mural's in town. Couldn't order pizza to room unless you used Door Dash and the prices were all expensive. Restaurant in Hotel did not open till after 4:00pm

We were able to do lots of day trips to other places in...
We were able to do lots of day trips to other places in Northern Michigan. Alpena, itself, has some fun things to do - and a great, free beach. We really enjoyed the glass bottom shipwreck tour - and there are lots of restaurants, breweries, and a great cidery in town.
We spent a lot of time watching birds in the bay from our backyard. Very relaxing.

Nice place, have stayed there many times.
Nice place, have stayed there many times. It had been fully restored a few years ago.they seen to be falling behind on the maintenance of the place.
All and all, I had a good stay and the room/ bathroom was good. I will stay there again!
