United StatesThe location of this hotel is absolutely perfect. The ferry terminal is right next door, and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Our room was very clean, and every room has its own balcony. We were lucky enough to have a room overlooking the harbor, which made the view even more special.
What truly made our stay unforgettable was the incredible kindness of the front desk staff. My grandmother borrowed a book from the hotel library, but since we were only staying for one night, she didn’t have time to finish reading it. When the staff found out, they generously told her to keep the book as a gift. She was absolutely delighted, and it meant so much to her.
This trip was a birthday celebration for my grandmother, and thanks to the wonderful staff and beautiful accommodations, it turned into a truly perfect experience. My grandma has already said that she would love to come back again someday!

We're an elderly couple. We had no trouble getting around.
We're an elderly couple. We had no trouble getting around. All the food, including restaurants and on the cruise, was excellent. Lots of lovely shops all in one walking area. Most of the shops were priced fairly, NOT a tourist trap.
Heart Island had excellent basic food at fair prices. No better place for relaxing with gorgeous flowers.
The entire are is amazing well kept, clean, beautiful. The locals were up-beat, helpful.
This was our second trip there and we will go back again.

Basing ourselves here allowed us to get to nice walking / hiking trails in the area in less than 30 minutes. We walked at Rock Dunder Trails and Landon Bay Trails. Gananoque had a number of restaurant offerings but found mostly pub food.

Clayton is a great little town in The 1000 Islands!
Clayton is a great little town in The 1000 Islands! Beautiful pavilion overlooking The St. Lawrence River! Good meal at O’Briens! Bets Bagels are a big hit, coming from a former Bagel maker! Glass Bottom tour and Sunset Cruise(same location)was great as is the Antique Boat Museum Hacker Boat cruise! Boldt Castle is a not to miss tour and this year we did the Yacht House tour! Was a fun place to visit! We stayed at The Clipper Inn, was a nice little motel/ restaurant right on the main road between Clayton and Alex Bay!

Love the quaint downtown area, the boat tours are wonderful to see the castles and islands.the tour to Singer castle is an hour trip each way. The castle is worth seeing. Many artifacts, antiques and history.

Clayton is quite beautiful with its well groomed and floral grounds. There were colorful adirondack chairs throughout the waterside edge to sit and relax. There were also many murals painted on buildings without debris or overfilled trash cans everywhere. Not as many shops as Alexandria Bay, but we did buy plenty of cheese (river rat cheese )and popcorn at the ones we stopped at. I think clayton is all about beauty and relaxing with the beautiful views and parks making Alexandria seem a bit trashy in comparison .

This was our first trip to the 1,000 Islands.
This was our first trip to the 1,000 Islands. There is no comparison between Alexandria Bay and Clayton. After the disastrous start, refusing to stay in our Alexandria Bay hotel, we stayed in Clayton. That is a beautiful town and we enjoyed our stay there.

I've been to Clayton many times and like the way it has changed over the years. There are several different shops to browse through and several different types of restaurants. One of my favorite things is the pier at the end of town where you can sit and watch the ships go by. Make sure to get a boat ride from Clayton Island Tours. They offer different types of boat tours. One of my favorites is to the Rock Island Lighthouse.
