Lovely little town to explore for couple of days. Scenic location and great walks. Boat trips couple of minutes walk away. Interesting free museum to visit. We were there in mid Sept and place was very much winding down . Limited choice of boat trips , boat museum closed and many cafes/shops closed.
First and foremost, the natural beauty of Gananoque is simply breathtaking. Nestled amidst the stunning Thousand Islands region, the charm of Gananoque extends beyond its natural wonders. The town itself is a delightful blend of historic architecture, quaint shops, and friendly locals. One of the standout experiences in Gananoque is, of course, the boat tour through the Thousand Islands. Cruising through these emerald waters while learning about the history and folklore of the area is an unforgettable adventure. In conclusion, my visit left me with cherished memories.
Incredible waterfront and beach, artsy downtown with nice restaurants historic feel good shopping and parks. Cute marina. Bike friendly, lots to do. Good coffee. Good place to bring kids. Hiking trails around town, lots of public washrooms. Would definitely go back with kids in summer. The beach is tiny but beautiful with playground, washrooms. Splash pad and soft sand.
We loved the Ruby Manor but were disappointed with lack of shopping in Gananocque. Seems many places permanently closed or not open on Mondays. That would be the only negative we would say about the area..otherwise, its so beautiful, wonderful waterfront, lovely old homes to drive or walk by and such a gorgeous display of lush healthy looking hydragenas at this time of year. My husband is ready to pack up and move there! Definitely worth a visit!
Gananoque is a very lovely picturesque town with an amazing ,well kept waterfront and area. .It has several well manicured parks, unique shops , art galleries , and many wonderful restaurants with a great variety of cuisines, several tourist attractions with the Bolt Castle Cruise at the top of the list. IT is one of the most relaxing mini vaca's for us. Definitely a do again short trip for us...1 to a few days. Top attraction ...the warmth of the people who serve the public, in every venue!!!! Thank you all.
Beautiful location and an amazing home. We felt like we were in a luxury home along the river. The ceilings were high, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom exquisite, heating/cooling work exceptionally well, parking was safe and right next to the home, and breakfast was excellent. We had a shared refrigerator and microwave just outside our door. We asked about charging our EV and were told that the owners have a Tesla and we could use their Tesla Wall Connector out front anytime we wished. Outstanding opportunity. We walked along the roadway below the "mansion" and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the variety of homes. Access to the river was not available, due to the waterfront being privately owned, but that was not a problem for us. We drove to Gananoque and found a wonderful small town, with amazing floral displays, plus an excellent restaurant (The Purple House). We were able to watch our pizza cooked in the outdoor pizza ovens, and also saw the owner/chef pick basil and other herbs fresh from their garden right next to the outdoor seating. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We can not recommend it enough.
Gananoque
Location is PRIMO. I grew up in the 1000 Islands and love the river. No meals were included, but there is a fully furnished kitchen, linens, hand soap, dish soap, and even salt and pepper. It was quiet and cozy. Lance was attentive when I had a question, and resolved it in a timely manner.
Gananoque
A unique find with very friendly hosts, excellent breakfasts [delivered to our room each morning] and a fantastic location close to the harbor with multiple restaurants and eateries a short walk away. Love the Gananoque area and its closeness to the St. Lawrence Seaway.
Breakfast was satisfactory. Primarily the same items each morning but it served its purpose. Location was a short driving distance to Main Street Gananoque. Outdoor pool was decent but it definitely wasn't heated (as advertised).
The bathroom was not clean, dirty counter top, light fixture all rusty. The hot water in shower was dripping constantly, showed manager and nothing was done to fix problem. It made room steamy. Will never stay at this hotel again.
Gananoque
I like the location, check in host (forgot his name) was friendly and helpful. Area and surroundings was quiet and respectful guests. Appearance of the hotel was appealing and well maintained. Hospitality ladies were pleasant.
Very nice, large property. Different room types around the hotel and ones looking over the pool and courtyard are really nice. Clean and fresh decor. Mostly well maintained. Very nice and helpful front desk staff.
The breakfast was good, hand cooked by the owners of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was accommodating and very friendly. Reasonably priced for one night stay.
Gananoque
Beautiful B&B right off the main street in Gananoque! The owners are absolutely wonderful and very helpful. The room was spacious and clean. Ample parking available.
We liked the location of the hotel and our room. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was better than we expected given the Covid restrictions.
there was nothing wrong with the hotel. the location was no good with the boat cruise in kingston. very disappointed.
