The swimming pool was really good, my children enjoyed it a lot.
The breakfast was good enough, nothing special but I cannot complain, I knew this before booking.

went to Maple Leaf restaurant for the best schnizel meal i have had in years. Wanted to go to the Playhouse but it was sold out, did the Casino and visited this small town that was very pleasant, boat rides, nice shops, close to Kingston, and visited that area as well, easy to get around, Hotel was very close to Casino.

Gananoque is a very cute little town that is a perfect stop...
Gananoque is a very cute little town that is a perfect stop for a one-day visit and overnight in the summer. We drove into Canada to see the Thousand Islands after doing a tour of Boldt Castle (taking a boat from Alexandria Bay in the U.S.), which was charming and a wonderful way to spend a day (even the three teenagers liked it). The grounds are expansive and there are multiple buildings besides the massive mansion. After driving into Canada, we went to Gananoque and walked the main street, which has little shops, gelato shops, coffee shops, perfect for a couple hours of distraction. The town itself is beautifully taken care of with fresh flowers everywhere and the waterfront has a boat museum and great views. HIGHLY recommend The Maple Leaf if you're a fan of schnitzel and spaetzle (but they have burgers and salads too if you're not).

It is fantastic city.
It is fantastic city. It is a good size for a day trip, and It is a right place to take a 5 hour cruise to see the islands & Boldt Castle. We had the best experience by walking on Main st and King St in the evening. The parks are beautiful.

We have been to Gananoque several times.
We have been to Gananoque several times. We've taken the boat cruise. I just like driving the residential streets, the homes are so beautiful. This trip we had tickets for a play at the 1000 Islands Playhouse. Hope we can visit again very soon.

Gananoque is pretty small, and what was interesting was that...
Gananoque is pretty small, and what was interesting was that around 10 PM, not many restaurants or stores were open. We arrived late and wanted to grab dinner and there was only 1 place to go, which was pretty good.
We styed for a night and did a cruise of the islands the next day which I think was absolutely enough.

Wonderful small town, very relaxing.
Wonderful small town, very relaxing. I had dinner twice at the Purple House which has a wonderful terrasse. A must! I also really enjoyed my 3h cruise through the 1,000 islands and the play I saw at the Playhouse (which has a nice patio overlooking the water). Its proximity to Kingston is also great (30 minutes by car): I could enjoy Kingston's attractions during the day and come back to the quiet and peace of Gananoque for a good night rest.

Very much felt like "we got what we paid for", and I don't mean that in a derogatory way. We just needed a clean, safe place to sleep (with a king bed!!!) as we were out and about for most of the time we were in Gananoque...and we got that! Staff were very pleasant and apologetic that they were in the midst of renovations, thought those bothered us not at all. Parking was right out front of our unit. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
