We were with friends and celebrating our 35th and their 54th wedding anniversaries. Both couples spent a part of their honeymoon visiting Boldt Castle and the 1000 Islands however, on the US side. We arrived at the Comfort Inn Friday night, Oct 2, 2026, because we had an early boarding on Oct 3, 9:30 am for the cruise. Not knowing any restaurants, our first night we went to the Maple Leaf restaurant. Good but not really our style of food. On Sat we had our continental breakfast at hotel (free), really good food. We could have walked down to marina,(10 min walk) however, our friends had some difficulties with walking a lot, and wanted to save the walking for Boldt Castle. So we drove down, (2 min) was 9$. really good price for the day, as we took the 5 hr. tour. Need to bring your passport, as Boldt Castle is American. On our return we had our lunch on boat, hotdog, chips and a drink. Great quantity and quality of food for the price (10.25) That night we went to Riva restaurant which is a 3 min walk from the hotel. Really good atmosphere and good food. On Sunday we had nothing planned, so we had our (free) continental breakfast, and decided to go visit the Tower that overlooks a great part of the 1000 islands, great views. We then had lunch at Mavericks, really good food, great portions, and very friendly staff. I would highly recommend. Then we went mini putting at the drive in. It cost 8$ per person, was 13 holes, and geared towards children but we laughed so much it was great afternoon. That evening, we went to Muskies Restaurant, they had a very slow day and were going to close early, however, they stayed open for us. The food was great, the atmosphere was beautiful, with a view of the marina. Would definitely go there again. Monday Oct 5th, had our last breakfast, once again very good and then headed home after a really good relaxing weekend.

Ideal the outdoor person, and amazing, dedicated and safe bicycle paths, in town and along the 1,000 Islands Parkway. But - the food outlets were overpriced, for example a food truck was selling a small order of french Fries for $7! The fish and chips I ordered at a local pub were so overdone you nearly needed a hammer to break the batter and when you did the fish had evaporated. Plus service was next to non existent and somewhat strained at best. Otherwise the town has examples of amazing historic architecture, an inviting waterfront, and the people, baring the servers and drivers are as friendly as can be. Oh I nearly forgot, driving down the main street is unpleasant, crowded, poorly designed and locals love to flip the bird!

Loved the location on the water, hotel, restaurant was excellent food and choices and servers, cute town was just passing through on a trip to Quebec City will go back and stay for a few nights and explore the town, take a cruise and a theatre show in.

What a great little town. Lots of shops, restaurants. Excellent walking trails and easy access to boat rides on the river. We really enjoyed the walk down by the marina area out to the point.. Very very clean town, parks and trails.

A great little town , we came to celebrate my birthday with biking at the waterfront in Kingston, be within walking distance to restaurants , boat cruising, town and the playhouse were easy to find at a few hotels and AirBNB.

went to Maple Leaf restaurant for the best schnizel meal i have had in years. Wanted to go to the Playhouse but it was sold out, did the Casino and visited this small town that was very pleasant, boat rides, nice shops, close to Kingston, and visited that area as well, easy to get around, Hotel was very close to Casino.
