Monastère des Augustines

Hotel in Centre-Ville, Quebec City

Le Monastère des Augustines, a health and wellness centre, is a former monastery from the 17th century that has been completely restored.

The monastery is set in a walled compound just a little downhill from the old city centre so it was was quiet and peaceful despite the bustle of the main streets. The shared bathroom situation is not a big inconvenience because there are several shower rooms on my floor. They were very clean and I didn't have to queue at all. Other than the accommodation aspect, the monastery also has a museum and it was worthwhile exploring its history and gardens too. It's perfect for solo travellers. I slept well and felt very rested even after just a night. Would love to be able to visit again.

The location, situated in the beautiful old town of Quebec was amazing. The quality of the room was exceptional, the room size was perfect for what my wife and I needed, the soap and shampoo Loccitane in the bathrooms showed it used quality products. I will stay here again if I return to Quebec City as I didn’t stay long enough.

Wonderful quaint hotel on a quiet street in the middle of Vieux Quebec. The hotel is managed very well, and the employees are all very nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plenty and very good. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Bed was huge. Plenty of restaurants, bars, and sights in a short walking distance.

We had a wonderful stay in Quebec City!

We had a wonderful stay in Quebec City! The city is full of romance, history and charm. The food is incredible and there is much cultural pride amongst the locals. So much to see and do within the old city and outside within a short drive. We will be back!

Quebec City is one of my most favourite cities in all my travels. Highlights are Chateau Fontenac, Plains of Abraham, Ste Anne de Beaupre, Ile d'Orleans, Montmorency Falls and the old part. It's a great city to walk but everything is uphill.

2 Full days of touring in the city was just right because I’ve already been to Quebec city . If it’s your first time I think you definitely want more time. I I booked the hop on hop off bus, which is great and giving you an overall tour of the city and dropping you off at most of the key destinations. I would purchase the ticket directly from them not through a third-party. If if you are into Canadian and Quebec history, this is the place to be.It is spectacular in walking back in history, seeing the restorations being done to the buildings. You are surrounded by history.

Super friendly people, whether we spoke English or tried out our French! Great shopping, restaurants and cafes - lots of choice. The city holds many festivals, cultural events and neighborhood parties, check it out to plan your visit. We also loved the Old City walking tours, the museums, the buskers and the Grand Marché de Québec.

The Open top bus tour is a must for getting your bearings and seeing what the city has to offer . Cobbled streets with bars / restaurants and shops in the old town great for wandering around. The Chateau Fontenac area was very nice with some wonderful parks nearby Montmorency falls were also a great place to visit on he blue bus route . In general a wonderful city to visit with very friendly people

Quebec City is a beautiful and charming destination,...

Quebec City is a beautiful and charming destination, especially if you enjoy history, architecture, and European-style old towns. In my opinion, two days and one night are enough to see the main highlights of the city without feeling rushed. The Old Town, Petit-Champlain, the Old Port, and the historic streets are definitely worth exploring. However, if you go all the way to Quebec City, I highly recommend visiting Montmorency Falls and Île d’Orléans as well. The falls are spectacular and only a short drive from the city, while Île d’Orléans is a beautiful and peaceful island with scenic countryside, charming villages, and great views. You can visit both in the same day.

The hotel is very well located for walking around the old town. The mattresses and linens were clean, and overall the room was kept clean. The rotating Ciel! Bistro-Bar is a fantastic spot for both brunch and dinner, offering stunning views of the city. So, this hotel is a compromise between price, location and quality. I’d definitely come back in the summer.

Excellent location, walking distance to old town and many shops and restaurants. The hotel building is beautiful and quiet, and the wellness facilities (indoor pool, saunas and jacuzzi) were a nice addition.
