The hotel fully corresponds to its purpose. Near the airport. Clean, well-kept territory, safe parking. The room had a good refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. Hot water, shower, bed everything is good. I do not understand why guests give a low rating to this hotel.

Everything about this hotel was excellent. The location, the staff was super friendly and helpful and the room was so nice with a beautiful shower. We loved the rooftop bar and views but shame the breakfast was not served up there midweek.

We had several experiences of Florida hotelrooms for 5 people in a row and this was by far the best. It was not too cramped, even though the five of us stayed in the same room. There were towels and linen for five (which I couldn't say about the other hotels we went to). Beds were comfy, bathroom was really nice and had great shampoo, shower gel and even loiton in there. The breakfast was great.

Never came to Punta Gorda before this trip.
Never came to Punta Gorda before this trip. We loved it the city itself had a lot to offer. The parks, walkways by the water. The botanical garden. The open market where people were selling handmade stuff. We enjoyed it all. And the beach was small but very comfy.

Port Charlotte is ideal for a place to stay for exploration of the surrounding areas. It has some lovely restaurants and enough shops for more than your basic needs. Whilst the local mall is disappointing the larger shopping malls and outlet malls are within easy reach. Gulf of Mexico beaches too are within a 30-40 minute drive.

We stayed 1 night out of 4 due to the fact the place had mold in the bathroom, filthy carpet, unexceptionable condition of the mattresses on the hide a beds, horrible smell of smoke and body odor and overall run down condition of the condo. We communicated with property manager about the possibility of a refund and she informed us the owner would not refund our money. We accepted the fact we would lose our money due to the threat of our health due to the mold and poor air quality. The property manager can into the condo when we were out and spray BLEACH in the shower to kill the mold. Between the overwhelming odor of bleach and febreeze on the carpet it became more of a health risk.

We make a point of trying different places in Florida, and we really liked Punta Gorda. It was clean, easy to drive around, and there were lots of places to go to within a 2 hour driving time.
We we on the Swamp Buggy Eco Tour that was about a 40 minute drive. Great value for an hour and a half tour seeing all kinds of animals up close and personal. We also did a harbor tour that was right at the dock we were staying at Fisherman's Village Suites.
We took a drive down to Sanibel Island and Captiva Island. It was a hop to Port Charlotte, so we did some shopping there.
It's a very active community with tons of water sports, hiking, biking, pickleball, tennis etc. Nice area, worth the visit.

We loved the place, it was just perfect, swimming pool was a bit small but warm and not crowded. It was comfortable to cook in condo, linen, everything was very clean and tidy. The location is by marina by the yachts and it's an amazing place for long walks and relaxing. Loved it!

We went in early May and were very happy with the lack of congestion in the stores and the streets. We were told that after Easter, it is the “off season”. I think if we return (we most certainly will). I would like to go again in May. The weather is perfect (mid to upper 80s) and there is something for everybody. You also very close to Fort Myers’s and Tampa which opens an entire world of possibilities. Don’t overlook this “gem” of a destination!

Port Charlotte looks like it is going downhill.
Port Charlotte looks like it is going downhill. Some malls had only a few stores and many stores have left the malls. Empty stores.
Dirty unkept areas, boulevards, parking lots were seen everywhere. Garbage was noticed in parking lots, and along roadways.
We won’t be back. Nicer areas in Florida to visit. Port Charlotte is not one of them.
