We were very much in doubt about this place, due to the low ratings. However, the reality is that the hotel was hit badly by the December 2024 earthquake and they are currently rebuilding the place. We got one of the new rooms. Thus, everything is freshly painted and all furniture is new. Consequently, we can highly recommend it for a night or two if you need to be close to the airport. It is just a short walking distance.

Featuring a exclusive waterfront access, an outdoor pool, Fatumaru Lodge is located along the Fatumaru Bay. Free WiFi, a private patio and lovely ocean views are standard in all apartments. I liked staying in a smaller lodge / hotel as it was nice and quiet and we hardly heard or saw the other guests. Loved that it was a short walk to the main town center and on the main road so always 'buses' offering lifts too.

Good and new air- con unit in room. Beautiful pool at your door. Very close to good cafes and local buses pass by the door. Fridge and kettle in room and good kitchen on site. Edie can arrange airport transfers for you. Would definitely stay again and we would have stayed longer if it wasn’t booked up. 10/10 place
