Helped us with finding a local guide who spoke English. Maniole made the experience for us - such a lovely, patient and kind man. He enabled us to climb the volcano.

The guesthouse is relatively new and taken well care of. The facilities are clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Convenient location just at the beginning of the hike to Pico. There is a hotel bar and restaurant on site with reasonable prices for water and drinks (indeed the same price as in the shop across the street). Do yourself a favor and arrange the food at the restaurant before you arrive, as the food here is absolutely delicious! Also possible to buy a packed sandwich for the early morning hike to the Pico, and perhaps have the breakfast packed (actually not much difference as the breakfast is bread, cheese, boiled egg and some fruits). Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Katya is very welcoming, cooks very (very very) well and takes care of her client like no one did in Cap Verde. We have spent 2 weeks in Cabo Verde and haven’t met anyone that kind, welcoming and helpful. The place is also amazing. Out of nowhere, facing the sea, natural swimming pool… you name it! Katya also offers a few options to discover Fogo island like pico de fogo.

One of the most relaxing places I have ever stayed, great value for money. Dani and his family prepared great food everyday, very very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Great recommendations concerning the surrounding area and the volcano. They offer all kind of tours for different levels of experience without being too pushy for it, so if you want to do a hike on your own, you still get the same great recommendations. Overall just a great place to spend your time, very relaxing.

Casa Adriano & Filomena si trova a Portela e offre un ristorante e un bar. Questo bed and breakfast propone un parcheggio privato gratuito e una cucina in comune. Una famiglia stupenda, mi hanno fatto sentire a casa nonostante sia molto lontana da lì, sono stati super gentili e disponibili. La vista è stupenda, da qui si può osservare la natura spettacolare che lo circonda, per non parlare delle stelle che sono splendenti, il tutto accompagnato da ottimo cibo e umanità. Superconsigliato!!

We had the most wonderful stay with Adriano, Filomena and their whole family. They are some of the most warm, welcoming and kind people we have ever met! Their property is in an incredible spot in the caldera with views all around. From the airport pick up, to the amazing home cooked meals, to our guided hike, everything was just great. Highly highly recommend staying here!!

Pipi's Guest House si trova a São Filipe e prevede WiFi gratuito, giardino, terrazza e bar. Spiaggia di São Filipe è a 2,4 km da questo bed and breakfast. A wonderful stay at Pipi's. A lovely place with a higher standard than your usual small B&Bs. Sparkling clean, peaceful and green, a great place to relax after long days of sightseeing. Breakfast is fantastic and Pipi can also cook dinner if you ask - I ended up eating there almost every day as the food was excellent and I really enjoyed the little bar under banana trees with an ocean view. Pipi and her husband are very warm and welcoming people and it is a real treat to stay at their beautiful home. It is located about 10min walk from the airport and 20min walk from town and if you don't fancy the walk, a taxi from town is under 2€. I stayed for 4 nights and absolutely loved it there!

Casa Ze & sonia offre la vista sulla montagna, il WiFi gratuito e un parcheggio privato gratuito a Portela. Troverete un bagno privato completo di doccia e set di cortesia. Ze and Sonia were super nice, friendly and accommodating. They could speak French relatively well. The room is simple but functional. The meals prepared were very delicious. The WiFi was good to work from there, and in case, the 4G antenna is located nearby. Absolutely recommended!

I lived the old colonial time house, which was transformed into the hotel. Renovation is really well done which preserves the spirit of the building and is very atmospheric. Emmanuel, chef of staff is very friendly and helpful. He also makes great cocktails! Best place to stay in Sao Filipe.

José was an extremely dedicated and courteous host. He provided us with reliable and personalised information, chauffeured us around and lovingly cooked for us three times a day on request. All this in an incredible location and architecture. Highly recommended!
