The most friendly and helpful people. The location was a little bit difficult to find but we called our host and received directions how to get there with no problem,after that son of our host drive us where we need to go including the train station next day. This property is located on one of the hills, surrounding the city so the view is so beautiful from the balcony.

Spacious balcony to sit and relax. The highlight is the large roof top terrace attached to the restaurant. Friendly staff and clean premises. Overall everything is good about this place.

The newly renovated space is extremely clean and comfortable, and the balcony view is unreal. Sami was constantly arranging the best drivers, recommending great local restaurants and attractions, and all in all going out of his way to ensure we had a great stay! The optional breakfast offers a variety of delicious authentic Sri Lankan food - we opted for it each morning of our stay. Only a short tuk tuk from the bustling centre of Kandy, the Chocolate Factory House is extremely peaceful and quiet. Sami is always around to help out with any questions and made us feel at home. Highly recommend to anyone travelling to Kandy.

The owner Sathis is really lovely and always available to help with anything you might need. The villa is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you need for your home away from home. The villa is located quite high up in the hills so the temperature and breeze were a huge relief after the heat and crowds in town but it is easily reached by tuk tuk. You can also walk to Kandy town in about 10-15 minutes just be warned the descent is quite steep in places and includes lots of stairs. Sathis is more than happy to arrange a tuk tuk to take you wherever you want to go if walking doesn't appeal to you. The only thing that could make it more perfect in my opinion would be a washing machine but there does appear to have been provision made for this in the bathroom so perhaps sometime in the future. But again Sathis offered to arrange laundry for us if we need it.

So everything is clean and working well. We stayed in a room that was part of a 3 bedroom unit that had its own kitchenette, plates, glasses, cups & cutlery, kettle, fridge, dining table in a central space. This would be perfect for a family or small group! Our room was clean and comfortable with a bathroom and balcony. The shower & sink has hot & cold water. Towels & sheets were new and clean. Our unit was high up and faced the morning sun and Kandy town. This unit means no mold or mildew, less mosquitoes, less barking dogs, and very quiet. You have a beautiful city view and yet are well above the smog and city noises. The restaurant is not yet open so we brought our own breakfast foods from town. The host was pleasant and easy to contact. He immediately opened the locked door to let us in each time. There are no ceiling fans or ACs. We happened to be in Kandy during an unusual heat wave so were provided pedestal fans which worked well for moving the cool air inside our room. We were very comfortable sleeping with a light top sheet at night. This is an amazing price for such a clean, mold free unit with a great view!
