Plus, if you’re a fan of the James Bond franchise there are several attractions and places to eat that are adorned with one of the world’s largest collections of 007 movie memorabilia.
Dezerland Park Orlando is also in a prime and easily accessible location just off International Drive.
Orlando has a host of water parks, but the one that really makes a splash is Aquatica Orlando. It’s not just one of the best in the city, it’s one of the best in America and offers plenty for all ages.
On top of a number of exciting slides, pools and rapids, Aquatica Orlando has kids’ play areas, restaurants, wave machines and more to keep you and the family occupied all day.
The most recent feature is the one-of-a-kind ‘Reef Plunge’, which includes over 300 feet of translucent slides that go underwater.
For something a little more calming and serene, the Harry P. Leu Gardens is the ideal choice. These gardens cover over 50 acres and within its boundaries are over 200 different plant species, areas of woodland, lakes and several walking trails.
The gardens were created and grown in the 1930s by the Leu family who would bring back exotic fauna from their global travels. They then gifted the land to the city for public use in the 1960s.
You’re free to explore the gardens at your leisure, but you can get guided tours if you want to learn more about its history and rich plant life.
Sports fans should head to one of Orlando’s most popular landmarks – the Amway Center. This 18,846-seater indoor venue is the home of the city’s famous basketball team, Orlando Magic, and during the NBA season, October to April, you can get tickets to see a game.
Even if you’re not a lover of sports, it’s worth checking out what’s on at the Amway Center. This is because the arena also hosts a regular calendar of concerts and performances from some of the biggest stars in entertainment.
If you’re staying in Downtown Orlando and fancy a break from the hustle and bustle, then you should head to Lake Eola Park.
You can find this 23-acre space just off East Washington Street and the well-kept parkland is perfect for picnics, sunbathing or simply relaxing. You can also book swan-shaped paddle boats and there’s a pleasant one-mile walk which loops around the lake’s edge.
For a unique day out for the kids, why not get creative at the Crayola Experience. There are nearly 30 different activities to do here as well as novelty sights like the world’s biggest crayon. Some other notable highlights include being able to make your own color crayons and an AR area where kids can draw and animate their artwork.
Another plus is that the Crayola Experience is within the Florida Mall, so you can also indulge in a little retail therapy during your visit.
Orlando is surrounded by some of Florida’s best natural scenery, but rather than having to take a car or a bus, a unique and memorable way to see it is via a hot air balloon ride.
There are numerous tour operators in and around the city who typically run their flights in the morning or evening when the weather is more favorable. In addition, most of these providers have set courses that take in the best of the city and its surroundings, but in some cases, you can charter bespoke rides.

Art lovers and tourists alike will be astounded by the extensive collections and galleries housed in the buildings. These range from awe-inspiring pieces from American history to African tribal art and even exhibits from today’s top modern artists.
