Welcome aboard the comfortable and exclusive ship La Paloma for a cruise in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Site. No other section of the Rhine has such a beautiful line of castles and palaces. On board the La Paloma you can relax and enjoy the view. Start in Koblenz and sail a short distance down the Rhine with a view of the Rhine in front of Koblenz, the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and the famous Deutsches Eck. At the mouth of the Moselle the ship turns around and heads up the Rhine to Braubach to the Marksburg. The boat trip takes you past the Electoral Palace in Koblenz, the Koblenz Brewery, Lahneck Castle, Stolzenfels Castle and the Königsstuhl in Rhens. In Braubach (Marksburg Castle) the ship turns around and heads back to Koblenz.

On this 2.5-hour cruise, you'll journey to the legendary Loreley Rock. You'll set sail from Boppard, cruising through the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Middle Rhine Valley with its fairytale castles, terraced vineyards and villages with traditional half-timbered houses. Four restored, functional mills – grain, mustard, oil and sawmills – illustrate how hydropower was used in the past. Especially impressive is the grain mill, modernized in 1917, once the largest in Daun County. During guided tours, visitors experience the production of flour, mustard and oil and can taste traditional sourdough bread from the stone oven in the mill bakery. Another highlight is the in-house distillery with courses and tasting. The on-site restaurant invites you to linger (self-paying basis) and offers regional specialities. Whether family celebration, wedding or conference – the mill offers individual programs and remains a lively place where old traditions can be experienced.

Discover the living past in the Eifel : On selected days, the Birgel Historical Water Mill becomes a place of experience for the whole family. The Technology Museum comes to life and impressively shows how mills, motors and machines used to define everyday life. Marvel at a fully functional steam engine from 1917, a mechanical oil press that has been in operation for over 130 years, and a three-story grain mill with a water turbine. Unpacked are a historic lathe, a mustard mill, a grist mill, as well as the in-house scoop brewery and brandy distillery. Always from 11 : 00 to 16 : 00, last admission 15 : 00. Note : A varied children's programme is available for an additional fee. For example, children can bake bread, make cereal, stir mustard or press oil – all using traditional methods and under instruction.

You start your tour from Cochem by boat to Bruttig. Again firm ground underfoot you can reach the winery in about 6 minutes on foot. Once there, the master vintner welcomes you. He walks with you through the nearby vineyards where you will learn all about the land & people and of course the wine growing. Once back at the winery, you will receive a small wine tasting with a hearty winemaker's vesper. Boosted by the food, you will taste a few more glasses of wine. You are welcome to linger in the ostrich farm and have a drink until the bus transfer picks you up and takes you back to Cochem.
