This three-part tour gives you a close look at life in the Amish community, beginning with a guided visit inside an 1805 farmhouse that was last occupied by an Amish family. As you move through the rooms, your guide will explain the house’s history, local customs, traditional clothing and aspects of Amish culture.
You will travel through the Amish countryside in mini-buses, so keep your camera ready for views of Amish schoolhouses, buggies, barns, farms, historic homes and wide farmland vistas. Along the way you may meet members of the Amish community and can buy handmade souvenirs at quaint Amish stores (please note: there are no stops at Amish stores on Sundays or Amish holidays). The experience also includes a self-guided visit to a 15-acre historic farm, where you will find an authentic Amish one-room school, Amish scooters and about 12 different types of animals. Various artisans and Amish craftsmen are present on the farm seasonally.
