It was great that the owners take care about our wishes, esprecially to arrive and park the car in the morning. It was very cool, that also the room was already prepared and ready for us. Description, keys and all the other things were very good organized and simple to find and to understand. It was a great weekend in Harlingen!

It is an amazing house capturing traditional spirit of the area, ful of charm and very nice and comfortable. Location is amazing, in a very old city core, next to the English garden, one of the amenities of the Harligen.

Hosts very friendly and prepared to help with anything Location is great for walking into town, the shops or the harbour Clean, spacious facilities. Modern, rain style shower with plenty of hot water Hosts brought us a flask of smoothie, bread, croissants, buns and plenty cheese, hams and meats for breakfast every day. Yoghurt and milk was also provided. Delicious!

It was the prefect relaxing weekend that we were craving. We only stayed for a weekend, but I think we'll be coming back for a full well. It was just lovely!

The house is very well fitted out with a quirky style and good fittings and furnishings. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, sitting on the roof, and generally feeling at home on our break in Harlingen. The house is well located for shops, the train stations, ferries, and cafes and restaurants. The host was very welcoming and helpful, and made sure that we enjoyed our visit.

The Het Dakhuis is AMAZING. Central location, spectacular views, charming and modern decor, sparkling clean, good wifi, and a fully equipped kitchen (with good knives!!!!). The stairs are more like wide ladders, and they were borderline for my mom (69 years old), but it was totally possible for her to navigate them. Also, we knew about the stairs when we booked, and we thought they added to the charm (it felt like we were living inside a windmill, in a good way!). We just left all our luggage on the entry level and only brought up things we absolutely needed in the kitchen or bedroom levels. We cooked dinner of local fish and veggies from the market happening the afternoon we arrived, and Anita left champagne for us which was a perfect match and a lovely gesture. And, she helped me figure out the paid street parking situation. Also, the Netherlands seems to have more reliable access to tea without caffeine that we even do back home in the USA. We really appreciated the stash of rooibos options. The only other things: it was hot with the windows closed, and if there was AC we couldn't figure it out. But that was our problem, not the house. :) We left the windows open overnight and the breeze cooled things off. (Also, the water closet is sealed off from the rest of the kitchen/bathroom level. It was sauna in there, so we left that door open most of the time.)
