The hosts were great, greeted us even at the late time we arrived and asked us about our trip and where we've been and where we're going and gave us some helpful tips (only host we had that did that) they upgraded us to a better room and we had some frozen food with us that we couldn't cook and the hosts went above and beyond and cooked the food for us! We were delighted by their hospitality. The room was great, Its location was far and quite remote but that just made it even more enjoyable for us as it was in a prime location to watch the northern lights If you're planning to stay in Egilsstaðir this is the place for you

Set in the quiet countryside of Eastern Iceland, these basic cottages are 7 minutes’ drive from the village of Vopnafjördur. It provides a kitchenette and free toiletries. Very good facilities, and a place with a beautiful view, luckily we also see the northern lights on that night. But the biggest highlight is the most receptive, helpful and welcoming hosts we've ever had on our travels. We had problems the next day regarding charging the electric car, and without their help we would not have been able to reach our next destination. They let us stay, providing the rooms that were empty on the day if we needed them and using the Wi-Fi and kitchen facilities. Furthermore, while we waited we were able to enjoy a small accordion show and a visit to the hosts' family museum.
