Great self catering bungalow by the sea, with friendly helpful owners. Also a lovely restaurant opposite (Chez Claudine) serving local seafood and home made coco punch! Breakfast at hotel next door if needed! You could hire cycles etc nearby

My family and I really enjoyed our short stay. Best host ever, and the place is spacious, cozy, and with a beautiful view in a peaceful neighborhood. Highly recommend.

The price of the replacement house (as in the picture) because the initial one was overbooked (60 000 ariary per night). If you're looking for a cheap house to rent, this is fine.

wonderful location and perfect views. Right on the beach and well placed for discovering the island. The staff were all excellent, friendly and attentive. Kate, the manager was superb. The food was great. We loved the island and didn’t want to leave.

The location is spectacular, the staff are all so helpful and nice. The woman manager went above and beyond to organise tours or transport and help us enjoy our stay. The ability to see whales from the terrace was magical. The food is excellent with an extensive lunch and dinner menu. Room was large and comfortable, anti mosquito plugins and sensible nets were standard. The hotel has a group of giant tortoises as well which were fun to see.

Breakfast was ok when we got it but served way too late. Some days it was not served at all. The location of itself was ok but not exactly beach front. The road to get to the property is in a very bad state..

Lakana hotel is one of the best choice you can choose on Sainte-Marie island. Location is beautiful. You can reserve bungalow on the tilt or in the garden (I had). The beach is cleaned everyday. The food is mostly local with a lot of fruits and it is very delicious. Bungalows are cozy and clean. Madam Rova (manager) is simply fantastic. She solved all my troubles with a transfer back to the mainland. Thanks again to all Lakana team. The only bad think is that one day you must leave, but I’ll be back soon :-) Tomas.

Would be much nicer if extras were available to purchase, like fruit salad, fruits, avocado, yogurt. Good location.

Exceptional setting at only 2 min from Sainte Marie airport. Very friendly and competent staff! We arrived on independence day and they offerred us a room upgrade from garden view to water front and we could literally hear the sound of the ocean while sleeping. The decoration is absolutely beautiful with tree amacas, pool and a very well kept private beach. The hotel also partners with locals for food and excursions. Highly recommended is Madame Franconie's home restaurant Le villageois with fresh fish and meat at very good prices in a family and warm atmosphere. We had a second honey moon thanks to these guys!
