Sheraton Suites Key West

“Nice rooms, very nice staff, easy parking. Beach access and all the 'toys' (SUPs, Hobie Cats, kayaks, etc.) were great. The hotel was not able to provide me with the king I'd reserved but offered to include breakfast for all 4 nights to make up for it and that turned out to be a win-win.”

Things to do Key West

Smathers Beach
Key West’s largest public beach is a water sports hotspot, with jetskiing, parasailing and kayaking all on offer. Don’t know where to start? There’s a whole host of shorefront schools that can help you get the hang of the basics. For those who prefer something slightly more sedate, the calm, clear waters are ideal for snorkelling and stand-up paddle boarding.
Fort Zachary Taylor Beach
This snorkeller’s paradise is Key West’s only natural beach. The warm waters and lack of currents around Fort Zachary Taylor Beach make spotting sea life a doddle – expect anything from barracuda and grouper to dolphins and turtles. Its ground-coral sand is sharp on the feet, though, so be sure to bring shoes suitable for swimming.
Rest Beach
Known locally as the Unfinished Road to Cuba, Rest Beach is a magnet for kiteboarders, with thrill-seekers lining up to jump White Street Pier whenever the wind picks up. It’s bordered by a laid-back shorefront park – a perfect spot to catch the famous Key West sunset after a long day on the water.

The beach means different things to different people. What did the beach in Key West mean to you?

Finding a beach? Remember: the Florida Keys are basically coral reefs that reached the surface, so there is lots of rock. You have to seek out a "beach" where they truck in sand for the humans. Southernmost House is a good spot?
The beach is awesome, tip for when you go there and in final of Caroline Street have one military base, they have one acess for especial beach, calm and very beatiful, the sunset is awesome there. $5 for peoples and $10 for car.
The beach is beautiful with access to things to do. Bohemian, live and let live culture abounds.
Beaches are clean but friendly (no crowd at all) and rocky - prepare yourself for this!
We found a small beach, which we enjoyed, not a "Miami Beach beach" but more genuine.
There are palm trees on the beach which are very nice.
nice place to relax and enjoy weather and scenery
The beach is small, tranquil water and ambiance.
could not find a true beach, therefore not much.
Soothed my soul. Beautiful water

Water Sports
The third largest coral reef in the world rests just off Key West’s coastline, luring a whole school of snorkelers. Besides the colourful coral and tropical fish, a lucky few may share their swimming space with dolphins, turtles and even reef sharks.
