The location is amazing, rooms are very nice and clean and the staff is very friendly and efficient. The food at the restaurant is so good it does not make sense to go out.

The room and terrace were wonderful, with a stunning ocean view where I could even observe wildlife. Breakfast was excellent, everything was clean, and the staff was very friendly. The hotel is beautifully surrounded by greenery, making it a perfect, peaceful stay.

Hotel Makanda by the Sea, a luxurious adults-only retreat nestled in the lush tropical paradise of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. The whole environment was simply fabulous! The room, our terrace, the pools, the service and the food... everything was just perfect. Even nature was on our side with a sloth on the premises and a whale jumping in the distance.!! Walking around can be a challenge due to steep walk ways. But the Hotel is offering internal transport services.

The location was phenomenal. The veranda out side the room had a good view, was sheltered from the sun and a pleasant place to sit. The Hotel is set amongst forest and almost on the beach. The wildlife comes to you. The swimming pool has seen better days but it’s in a very special location and the capuchin monkeys regularly visit to hang out with their family. The beach is totally amazing. Manuel Antonio is only a 10 minute jaunt along the beach. This hotel is an experience in itself. Well worth a visit.
