The atmosphere is incredibly warm and welcoming — the team goes above and beyond, helping at every step and even thinking outside the box, which is something I especially appreciated as it’s not very common in Japan. The bed was super comfortable, and I was honestly so happy to have a normal pillow instead of the typical buckwheat one. Overall, this stay felt even better than my previous experience in a large 4-star hotel. The staff speak English well and are very helpful — they assisted with bicycle rental and snorkeling arrangements, which made everything much easier. Check-in was smooth and even earlier than expected since the room was ready — more typical for Europe than Japan, and definitely a pleasant surprise. They also offer breakfast and BBQ dinner (reservation required in advance), which is a great addition. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a warm, personal, and genuinely caring stay.

The host is very welcoming and responsive. The location of the house in Kabira bay is great, surrounded by many friendly restaurants.

Set in Ishigaki Island in the Ishigaki Region, 200 metres from Kabira Bay, Joya features a sun terrace. Free private parking is available on site. This place was incredible I loved how peaceful and quiet it was but also very close to everything as well. The lady that cooks for you every day really tries to connect and create conversation and has some really good recommendations. I'm very grateful for this and it feels like a warm and welcome place
