The staff were brilliant, our room was spotless, the bed was so comfy I want to know where it's from. The hotel is much more beautiful in real life than It is in pictures.

Boasting a private beach area and sea views, Zanziblue Boutique Villas in Matemwe provides accommodation, water sports facilities, an outdoor swimming pool, barbecue facilities and a garden. Everything. A slice of heaven. Unfortunately, I was a bit ill and exhausted. Having Climbed Kilimanjaro just prior, so I did not avail of much sightseeing offers. But I loved every minute. Food is off the charts good. I had a Queen Room, ground floor. It was fantastic. No mosquitoes was a bonus. The smell in the room every time I entered was breathtaking. It smelled so fresh and nice.. Had a small guided walk out to the reef. Amour the guide and his friends were excellent. So respectful of nature and not harming or disturbing anything. Thankfully they stopped a really ignorant and rude Italian man from poking at everything with a big stick and destroying things. He was so abusive and horrible. But they handled the situation brilliantly. I did not stay anywhere other than Stonetown and Zanziblue so no comparisons possible. But this stay for me was an experience of a lifetime that I will fondly remember.

Set in Matemwe, Villa Tulia is a private villa with direct access to the beach. The property boasts a swimming pool with ocean views. We stayed at Villa Tulia as a group of 6 and had an absolutely amazing experience. The villa is stunning, very clean, and comes with great amenities. What truly made our stay special was the incredible staff – Paul, the always-helpful property manager, the resident chef who prepared delicious meals, the housekeepers, security team, and gardeners – everyone was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. Every morning we were treated to a fantastic breakfast with a wide variety of fresh options, which we looked forward to daily. The villa is perfect if you're looking for privacy and peace – it has direct access to the beach, and most days it felt like we had the entire shore to ourselves, free from vendors or crowds. We also felt very safe, with round-the-clock security. The beach is ideal for long walks, morning swims, or stargazing at night – truly magical. There's also a small kitchen available if you ever feel like cooking. Also worth mentioning is Sam, the villa’s recommended driver, who was amazing and stayed with us throughout our entire trip. He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and enriched our rides with fascinating insights about Zanzibar. He also helped us organize excursions and day trips, making everything smooth and enjoyable. If you're looking for a quiet, luxurious, and private stay in Zanzibar with top-notch service, Villa Tulia is the place to go. We can’t thank the whole team enough – we had an unforgettable stay and would return in a heartbeat!

Everything really - location on a wide stretch of sand, aesthetically built property, the giant pool, and very courteous owners and staff. Nice, clean property with a huge balcony in every room looking out to the ocean. The restaurant had lots of options too. Spent the night of 31st here which was also a lot of fun!

Property is located right at the beach. All, bungalows and grounds are well maintained (daily). Breakfasts with variety of foods prepared and served at on premise restaurant. Good food is available all day long. Staff were very nice and caring.
