Charming enclosed property located in a small peaceful village. Great for the more quiet base near the busier touristic places. Parking is on the street close the the house. The garden with swimming pools is beautifully landscaped. Our room was on the first floor. it had a comfy bed and was stylishly decorated. The bathroom was in the hall with the direct access from the room. The breakfast was served in the cozy dining room on the ground floor. It was delicious with a good selection of food.Our hostess Virginia was friendly and spoke English.

The breakfast was good. The wine absolutely superb. And it was very nice being able to eat dinner there and not hunt for a restaurant elsewhere. Very interesting chatting to the owners.

This was more a B&B than a hotel in a converted, historical wine making establishment. The building was superbly updated with modern furnishing and bathroom facilities. The hostess (owner) served us a delicious breakfast with homemade minis muffins, jams, fresh fruits. She was friendly and we had great conversation. I am so glad I found this just 15 minute drive from Carcassonne in the quiet village of Rustiques. We were even lucky to join a historical walking tour with a local historian who presented in 4 different languages.

St. Frichoux was a lovely tiny old village close to Carcassonne in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region full of friendly people. Our hosts welcomed us like family in their beautiful garden to introduce us to the area. They shared their local knowledge of restaurants and invited us to join their gourmet dinner. Breakfast with their other guests was fascinating while we enjoyed delicious treats made by Jean-Paul. The delightful 5 course dinner with local wine pairings concluded with a spectacular cheese & fruit board before a rich but light cheesecake. The most outstanding part of our 3 night stay was Sophie & Jean-Claude’s welcoming conversations and sharing with other guests from France. The family style meals allowed us to get to know everyone with the help of Sophie & other kind guests translating when needed. I can’t say enough about the kindness inspired by our great hosts.

Outstanding b&b run by a lovely family. We had the simplest room, reasonably priced (53€ for 2, breakfast included, in mid-March). Breakfast was very good and the optional home-cooked pasta dinner was also tasty. Parking in the gated yard. Nice common area for guests, with fresh fruit. Very quiet location. A lot of attention has been paid to decor. Only the wufe, Sylvie, speaks English so non-French communication is a bit awkward when she's not home. A problem with wifi coverage was addressed by immediately moving the router into our room. We loved the place and the people.
