On arrival we were warmly greeted by Vance, who kindly offered to help us with our luggage. They room was spotlessly clean with an amazing ensuite shower room, which looked as though it had recently been fully refurbished. After a peaceful night, we were treated to an excellent breakfast, personally prepared by David, as good as any we've served in a 5* Hotel. Topped off with a fabulous pot of coffee, as we took in the expansive views of the countryside and watched the donkeys.

After an epic drive from North Wales I was really looking forward to settling down in my room and I was hoped the place was decent, I needn't have worried !. It was a little hard to find at first but maybe that was the fact the roads in the area are pitch black and I didn't see the signpost that told me where to turn. I called the owner and told her where I was and she stayed on the phone giving me directions all the way to the door where she was very kindly standing outside waving at me, though I was probably about 200 metres away it still made it easier and it did help. She showed me my room and explained when breakfast was and advised me what was open locally so I could get some well needed food. The room was lovely and well appointed, a large very comfortable bed, a very spacious clean bathroom (with a bidet now you don't see those very often any more!), the place was a delight. After a very good nights sleep I came down for breakfast which I ate whilst looking out on the gardens, almost to order a squirrel appeared and bounced round the garden while the array of birds swooping around was lovely, admittedly neither things were created by the owners but it really did add to the experience. The breakfast was great (the sausages were gorgeous) and with a full stomach I reluctantly packed up my car and sadly had to leave for the day ahead. As it was a trip for work I was only there for one night but I am already hoping my business takes me back to the area so I can come back again !
